It was done a bibliometric analysis of the multidisciplinary journals of psychology recently incorporated in the Web of Science (WoS) in 2008 and 2009. A total of 448 "articles" and "revisions" was analyzed, where the nationality of the authors, the index of responsibility and the contents of the works were examined. The results show that Psicologia: Reflexao e Critica is the journal that has more published articles. There are differences in the diversity and number of collaborating countries, being the journal Universitas Psychologica the one that has greater representation of authors from different countries from the origin of the journal. There are more individual articles (31.25%), followed by works signed by two (28.57%) and three authors (21.43%), respectively. The majority of articles is classified within the areas of Social Psychology (18.75%), followed by articles of Clinical Psychology (16.74%) and works related to Psychology of Education (11.16%), clarifying that the greater contribution of clinical works comes from the Revista Latinoamericana de Psicopatologia Fundamental (with 40.7% of the total of its publications).

Análisis bibliométrico de las revistas multidisciplinares de psicología recientemente incorporadas en la Web of Science (2008-2009)

This was an era when the Internet really was the ‘Information Superhighway’. The early years of the digital age saw many organisations starting to move their services from using traditional to electronic forms of propagation. Part of this was to have a presence on the World Wide Web, initially resembling an online version of their sales brochure but later becoming more of a depository for specific information and advice. The web quickly became the first port of call for anyone looking for information, overtaking the telephone, paper directories, local libraries, reference books, newspapers, periodicals, etc. One of the big challenges was organising all this information and making it accessible for Internet users. Search engines were in their infancy and often struggled to return relevant results, so web portals appeared offering categorisation of the growing chaotic mass of Web information. The vision of OSCAR was born in this era, part of which was to provide an information portal for all things ‘mission’ on the Web.

Background: Learning and relearning are essential aspects in the rehabilitation of aphasia, and yet it is not at all clear what learning is in aphasia. The need for new views, clearer definitions and discussions of learning has been expressed repeatedly. In aphasiological literature learning is mostly interpreted according to a behaviouristic paradigm. In other fields, however, L. S. Vygotsky's different philosophy and theory of learning have been applied widely, even if the Soviet political ban delayed the spreading and application of his ingenious work over 50 years. Aims: This paper introduces basic Vygotskyan ideas, theories, and concepts and suggests the application of his views of learning to the rehabilitation of aphasia. Before A.R. L. S. Vygotsky's psychology and theory of learning applied to the rehabilitation of aphasia: A developmental and systemic view

This article aims to present and discuss, critically: (i) the theoretical principles of socio-historical-cultural approaches which guide the academic research in the field of enunciative-discursive Neurolinguistics, mobilizing with the main postulates of Vygotsky and Luria, concerning the brain functioning, as well as the reflections carried out by Coudry, Franchi and Novaes-Pinto, related to the conception of language and its functioning; (ii) methodological questions related to the qualitative researches of aphasiological phenomena, guided by the works of Freitas, Damico et al., among others; and, finally, (iii) how case studies and qualitative analysis contribute to the research in the field of Neurolinguistics, in order to understand aspects of cognitive functioning and the relation between brain and language.

Cérebro, linguagem e funcionamento cognitivo na perspectiva sócio-histórico-cultural: inferências a partir do estudo das afasias

O artigo discute a semiologia das afasias, que teve inicio no seculo XIX com Broca e Wernicke. Nao e nosso objetivo fornecer uma lista exaustiva de sintomas e sindromes para tratar do tema, ja que buscamos discutir criticamente por que a semiologia das afasias ainda se baseia principalmente em perspectivas orgânicas na pratica clinica e na pesquisa cientifica. Tambem discutimos as contribuicoes de Luria e de Jakobson para uma melhor compreensao de como a linguagem esta comprometida nas afasias e como a Linguistica Moderna, sobretudo a Neurolinguistica Discursiva, pode iluminar o debate. Analisamos alguns dados para ilustrar os pressupostos teoricos e metodologicos das referidas abordagens e discutimos ainda o peso excessivo que as classificacoes tem no contexto clinico.

Semiologia das Afasias: Uma Discussão Crítica

Writing a chapter about aphasia from a social-cultural perspective is a great challenge, considering the respect gained by the huge amount of research guided by what we will be calling, in this work, “traditional approaches”. We believe therefore to be relevant, before starting our discussion, to situate the locus of our work with aphasia – the field of Linguistics, more specifically the Discursive Neurolinguistics which has been developed at the Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem (IEL), Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), in Brazil. One of the main features that differentiates our research from the work developed in other centers in Brazil and abroad is its strong connection with linguistic theories, especially the ones developed in the second half of the 20th century, such as Enunciative Semantics, Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis, which strongly influence the way we approach theoretically and methodologically the aphasia phenomena. From a unique locus, we believe Linguistics may contribute to a better description and understanding of how language and its several functions and speech genres can be impacted by brain injuries, considering what has been learnt about normal functioning for almost a century of development of this field as a science.
