In this modern era of societal marketing business ethics and social responsibility are becoming the guiding themes for marketing strategies and practices. Within the field of ethics and social responsibility environmental and green marketing topics are the central topics, which are closely related to biodiversity and sustainability. This paper suggests a different approach to assessing the variables of consumers’ green purchasing behavior. Based on thoroughly researched secondary data, this conceptual paper suggests a framework integrating the so far incoherent frameworks as proposed by previous authors. Emanating from this eclectic and chronological literature review, the paper will also propose further missing links that need to be included in the proposed integrated framework. Based on this holistic framework, in a future study, the authors will explain a sustainability index of green consumer behavior, which will be tested empirically in the study. In fact, from the proposed integrated framework, in total eight vital factors/aspects of green/environmental issues are likely to have an impact on consumer green purchasing behavior. Demographic variables will play an intervening or mediating role in the framework.

Factors Affecting Consumers' Green Purchasing Behavior: An Integrated Conceptual Framework

Green consumption involves comprehensive concerns that address the broad scope of sustainability, ecosystem balance, profit-generation and people. Identifying the factors that influence consumers' purchase behavior enables manufacturers to understand consumers' decision-making processes and can help them develop more environmentally beneficial products. However, scholars have recently found that a gap exists between environmental concern and consumers' actual purchase behavior. The purpose of this paper is to use cognitive behavior theory to investigate the drivers of green consumption behavior and the missing link in the concern–behavior gap. After collecting 375 valid questionnaires, this study validated the proposed conceptual model using structural equation modeling. The revised model indicates that environmental involvement, informational utility, green advertising skepticism and green trust are antecedent variables of consumer attitudes toward green products. Toward Sustainable Livelihoods: Investigating the Drivers of Purchase Behavior for Green Products

This article examines two-decades of progress toward developing ‘geographies of ageing’ as a distinct field of human geography. Reflecting on the last review in this journal by Harper and Laws (1995), we elucidate the longstanding, emergent, and hidden pathways of scholarship involved in the constitution of the field since the mid-1990s. We consider contemporary developments relating to the empirical gap in understanding the contributions of older people and the potential for relational and nonrepresentational perspectives to expand the breadth of the field. The still nascent profile of ageing within the discipline is contrasted with the interdisciplinary spatial turn underway in gerontology.

Geographies of ageing: Progress and possibilities after two decades of change

Many studies have been conducted about consumers' green purchase behavior (GPB) in Europe and North America. This research paper examines Pakistani consumers' intention to buy environmentally friendly products. The primary focus of this research paper was to examines and investigate the hypothesized relationship between predictor and criterion variable i.e. green purchase attitude (GPA) and green purchase intention (GPI). The second was to determine the relationship of criterion variable and outcome variable i.e. GPI and GPB. Finally, the third objective was to ascertain the moderating effect of perceived product price and quality (PPP&Q) between GPI and GPB. Survey was conducted in four university of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The target population for this study was the under graduate, graduate and postgraduate students. The sample consisted of 400 participants and convenience random sampling was used. The results from this study showed that consumers are ready to buy green products more often, but as for as the price and quality is concern, green products must perform competitively just like the traditional products. Furthermore, this study also discusses how the present findings may help the Pakistani government and businesses/ green marketers to fine-tune their environmental program.

Determinants of Pakistani Consumers' Green Purchase Behavior: Some Insights from a Developing Country

This study examines the influence of various factors on the green purchase intentions of Pakistani consumers. To this end, a conceptual model has been proposed and subjected to empirical verification with the use of a survey. The survey results obtained in two major Pakistani cities provide reasonable support for the validity of the proposed model. Specifically, the findings from the correlation matrix, simple regression followed by multiple regression analysis confirm the influence of OGI, EK, EC and PPP&Q on consumers purchase intentions toward green products. The OGI, EK and EC, in turn, also seem to affect consumers green purchase intentions via the moderating role of PPP&Q of a green product. Although the present findings provide a better understanding of the process and significant antecedents of green purchasing intentions, this also highlights one area for more thorough investigation. This is the significant moderating role of PPP&Q variables in consumers’ green purchasing process. As the findings suggest that respondents have a high positive attitude regarding green products and are ready to buy green products more often, but as for as the product price and quality are concerned, green products must perform competitively just like the traditional products. This study also discusses how the present findings may help the Pakistani government and green marketers to fine-tune their environmental programs.

Environment Friendly Products: Factors that Influence the Green Purchase Intentions of Pakistani Consumers

Generally speaking, environmental education teaching, research, and practice have been informed by the traditions of western, Euro-centric culture. In this context indigenous perspectives are often marginalized, maligned, and perceived to be unscientific and therefore inferior. This essay adds to the growing body of literature exploring aboriginal indigenous environmental epistemologies and responsible human interactions with the natural environment. The paper provides a Canadian context as it examines the environmental philosophy and attitude of a Canadian First Nations community to the natural environment grounded in the lived experiences of adults, children and elders from the Walpole Island First Nation. We make the argument that while not a panacea, Aboriginal environmental epistemologies hold lessons for teaching environmental stewardship and sustainability behavior in mainstream classrooms.
