Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of bulges produced by laser surface texturing on the sliding friction and wear behavior
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of bulges around the dimples rim on the sliding friction and wear behavior was investigated and the mechanisms of friction coefficient reduction and wear resistance enhancement were studied and discussed quantitatively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improvement in the tribological characteristics of Si-DLC coating by laser surface texturing under oil-lubricated point contacts at various temperatures
TL;DR: In this paper, the tribological properties of textured and untextured Si-DLC coatings were investigated by conducting friction tests against an alumina (Al2O3) ball.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lubricity and corrosiveness of ionic liquids for steel-on-steel sliding contacts
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the lubricating properties of seven kinds of commercially available ionic liquids under steel-on-steel sliding contacts using an SRV oscillating sliding tester.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fretting wear and fracture behaviors of Cr-doped and non-doped DLC films deposited on Ti–6al–4V alloy by unbalanced magnetron sputtering
TL;DR: In this paper, the fracture phenomenon of the diamond-like carbon (DLC) films was determined as the number of fretting cycles to reach a high value of the friction coefficient.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tribological Performance of Halogen-Free Ionic Liquids as Lubricants of Hard Coatings and Ceramics
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the lubricity of halogen-free ionic liquids for hard coatings and ceramics using an SRV oscillating sliding tester and found that they exhibited different lubricating properties with each nitride coating, and the combination of H-free DLC and [EMIM] [DCN] particularly showed excellent lubricity.
