Journal ArticleDOI
Intestinal glycosidase activities in the human embryo, fetus, and newborn.
S. Auricchio,A. Rubino,G. Mürset +2 more
TL;DR: The observed development of the intestinal disaccharidases in the human is apparently different from that known in animals (calves, rabbits, pigs, and rats), where the α-disac charidases develop only after birth and where lactase activity develops earlier in fetal life and drops after birth.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolated intestinal lactase deficiency in the adult
Journal Article
The handling of soya alpha-galactosides by a normal and a galactosemic child.
Richard Gitzelmann,S. Auricchio +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the alpha-galactosidase activity in homogenates of human small intestinal mucosa was demonstrated either with stachyose, raffinose, or melibiose.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiplicity of human intestinal disaccharidases. i. chromatographic separation of maltases and of two lactases.
TL;DR: Disaccharidases from normal human intestinal mucosa have been solubilised by “autolysis” and/or papain digestion and have been partially separated by gel filtration on Sephadex G-200.
