Compact optical comb generator using InP tunable laser and push-pull modulator
TL;DR: In this article, the suitability of InP-based push-pull modulators to generate flat optical comb spectra was investigated and the residual amplitude modulation that was a consequence of driving the modulator well above its design voltage (up to 4V[pi]) was demonstrated to have no adverse effect for the comb generation.
Journal ArticleDOI
40-MHz all-fiber acoustooptic frequency shifter
TL;DR: In this paper, the first demonstration of a 40 MHz four-port all-fiber frequency shifter operating at a wavelength of 1.55 /spl mu/m was presented.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
InP Coherent Receiver Chip with High Performance and Manufacturability for CFP2 Modules
S.G. Farwell,Pantelis Aivaliotis,Yahong Qian,Paul A Bromley,Roger Griggs,Joseph Ng Yew Hoe,Colin Smith,Stephen Jones +7 more
TL;DR: An InP coherent receiver chip with the highest reported responsivity together with excellent RF bandwidth and 4×4 MMI width fabrication control providing a highly manufacturable Rx for CFP2 modules is reported.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
InP-based optical comb-locked tunable transmitter
TL;DR: A comb-based tunable transmitter with potential to be integrated on a single InP photonic chip with 7.1 bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency is demonstrated and transmitted over 300-km of SMF-28.
Proceedings Article
All-fibre acousto-optic tunable filter based on a null coupler
TL;DR: In this article, the coupler was made more uniform and a double-pass arrangement was proposed to further narrow the bandwidth, reduce the sidelobes, and double the frequency shift of the null coupler.
