Beneficial role of nanosilica in cement based materials – A review

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of nanosilica addition on hydration kinetics, microstructure refinement, fresh/hardened properties and durability characteristics of concrete are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Properties of polymer-modified mortars using epoxy and acrylic emulsions

TL;DR: In this paper, an epoxy emulsion based polymer system has been developed for improving the properties of plain cement mortar or concrete, which has superior strength properties and better resistance to the penetration of chloride ions and carbon dioxide.
Journal ArticleDOI

A review of the properties of hemp concrete for green building applications

TL;DR: A review of the state-of-the-art of hemp concrete research is presented in this article, with a view to identifying research gaps that shall guide future research for its implementation in the fast-growing green buildings industry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anticorrosive properties of the epoxy–cardanol resin based paints

TL;DR: An epoxy-cardanol resin was developed using epichlorohydrin, bisphenol-A and cardanol as mentioned in this paper, which exhibited better properties as compared to epoxy resin in terms of increase in tensile strength, elongation, bond with steel and lowering of water vapour transmission of the film.
