Journal ArticleDOI

Characterisation of thin films of bismuth oxide by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this article, the positions of the Bi 4 f 7 2 and 4 f 5 2 peaks were considered and peak-fitting routines were used to find a linear relation between the binding energies and oxidation state.
Journal ArticleDOI

A study of dilute tin alloys by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the binding energy shifts are explained on the basis of electronegativity and near-neighbour interactions, and it is found that increased coordination number as well as increased electrone gativity of the neighbouring atoms increases the binding energies of the core electron level.
