Literature review of deteriorating inventory models by key topics from 2012 to 2015

In this study, a one-manufacturer–one-retailer supply chain model for deteriorating items with controllable deterioration rate and price-dependent demand is developed, in which both players cooperatively invest in preservation technology to reduce deterioration. Algorithms are designed to obtain the pricing and preservation technology investment strategies in both integrated and decentralized scenarios. It is shown that cooperative investment strategy benefits the manufacturer but damages the profits of the retailer and the whole supply chain. A revenue sharing and cooperative investment contract, which combines revenue sharing and cost sharing mechanisms, is thus designed to coordinate the supply chain. Numerical simulations and sensitivity analysis of the equilibrium strategies and coordinating results on key system parameters are given to verify the effectiveness of the contract, and meanwhile get some managerial insights. The results show that only when the revenue sharing rate lies roughly between 1/2 and 3/4 can the contract perfectly coordinate the supply chain in most cases, which has an important guiding significance for the supply chain coordination of deteriorating items when considering preservation technology investment.

A review of mathematical inventory models for reverse logistics and the future of its modeling: An environmental perspective

The purpose of this paper is to present a conceptual framework on resilience types in supply chain networks.,Using a complex adaptive systems perspective as an organizing framework, the paper explores three forms of resilience: engineering, ecological and evolutionary and their antecedents and links these to four phases of supply chain resilience (SCRES): readiness, response, recovery, growth and renewal.,Resilient supply chains need all three forms of resilience. Efficiency and system optimization approaches may promote quick recovery after a disruption. However, system-level response requires adaptive capabilities and transformational behaviors may be needed to move supply chains to new fitness levels after a disruption. The three resilience types discussed are not mutually exclusive, but rather complement each other and there are synergies and tradeoffs among these resilience types.,The empirical validation of the theoretical propositions will open up new vistas for supply chain research. Possibilities exist for analyzing and assessing SCRES in multiple and more comprehensive ways.,The findings of the research can help managers refine their approaches to managing supply chain networks. A more balanced approach to supply chain management can reduce the risks and vulnerabilities associated with supply chain disruptions.,This study is unique as it conceptualizes SCRES in multiple ways, thereby extending our understanding of supply chain stability.

Supply chain resilience: a dynamic and multidimensional approach

In the present market scenario, inflation has become a permanent feature of economy throughout the world. In this paper we have proposed an inventory system of deteriorating items with time varying holding cost under inflationary environment. Most of the inventory faces the problem of deterioration which decreases the total profit. To control the rate of deterioration preservation technology techniques is used. In the proposed inventory model demand is ramp type and shortages are allowed and partially backlogged with constant backlogging rate. Due to ramp type demand, this inventory system is divided into two inventory models. Both inventory models have been solved by using distinct numerical examples. Also the concavity of the objective function for each model has been shown. Finally, the sensitivity analysis is also performed for different parameters to find some useful observation.

Effect of Inflation and Time Varying Holding Cost on an Inventory Model with Permissible Delay in Payment under Ramp Type Demand

Fluorine is a highly reactive element and readily hydrolyzes to form hydrogen fluoride and oxygen. Hydrogen fluoride reacts with many materials both in the vapor phase and in aerosols. Fluorides are naturally-occurring components of rocks and soil and are also found in air, water, plants, and animals. Fluorine gas pollutes the atmospheric environment originating from aluminium smelting plant operating at Renukoot, district Shonbhadra. Volcanic emissions also emit hydrogen fluoride.  A detailed investigation undertaken during 2008-2012 to objective fluoride Distribution in Aquatic Environment in Vicinity of Aluminum Industry and its Correlation with Rainwater Chemistry and Weather Parameter. For this investigation Collect 57 rainwater samples in rainy season in pre-cleaned and sterilized polyethylene bottles of two litre capacities from roof of the local society of Hindustan Aluminum Company Renukoot, district Sonbhadra. The collected samples were analyzed for pH, Electrical Conductivity, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Carbonates, Bicarbonates, Chlorine, Sulphate, Fluoride, Residual Sodium Carbonates, and Sodium Adsorption Ratio with standard procedures.

Impact of Carbon Emission and Volume Flexibility on a Reverse Logistics Inventory Model with Two Levels of Trade Credit Period

In this article, an inventory model is developed to deal with the impreciseness present in the market demand and the various cost parameters. The presented model is developed in crisp and fuzzy environments. Signed distance method is used for defuzzification. In most of the classical models, constant demand rate is considered. But in practice purchasing deeds of the customers is affected by the selling price and inventory level. In this study, we have considered demand rate as a function of stock-level and selling price. Two parameters Weibull distribution deterioration is considered. It is assumed that shortages are allowed and are partially backordered with the time dependent backlogging rate. A numerical experiment is provided to illustrate the problem. Sensitivity analysis of the optimal solution with respect to the changes in the value of the system parameters is also discussed.
