Journal ArticleDOI

Tensile, flexural and interlaminar shear properties of woven jute and jute-glass fabric reinforced polyester composites

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of stacking sequence on tensile, flexural and interlaminar shear properties of untreated woven jute and glass fabric reinforced polyester hybrid composites has been investigated experimentally.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wear behaviour of A356/25SiCp aluminium matrix composites sliding against automobile friction material

TL;DR: In this article, the wear behaviour of aluminium metal matrix composite (Al MMC) sliding against automobile friction material has been compared with the conventional grey cast iron materials, and it is observed that the friction coefficient of Al MMC is 25% more than the cast iron while sliding under identical conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimal design of a composite leaf spring using genetic algorithms

TL;DR: In this article, a formulation and solution technique using genetic algorithms (GA) for design optimization of composite leaf springs is presented, where the optimum dimensions of a composite leaf spring have been obtained, which contributes towards achieving the minimum weight with adequate strength and stiffness.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elastic properties, notched strength and fracture criterion in untreated woven jute–glass fabric reinforced polyester hybrid composites

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of hybridization of glass fibre with jute fibre as well as the effect on the hole size on the notch sensitivity of the composites under consideration is discussed.

Analytical and experimental studies on fatigue life prediction of steel and composite multi-leaf spring for light passenger vehicles using life data analysis

TL;DR: In this article, the static and fatigue analysis of steel leaf spring and composite multi leaf spring made up of glass fibre reinforced polymer using life data analysis was performed and compared with experimental results.
