Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, characterization and biological activity of some platinum(II) complexes with Schiff bases derived from salicylaldehyde, 2-furaldehyde and phenylenediamine.

TL;DR: Four platinum(II) complexes of Schiff bases derived from salicylaldehyde and 2-furaldehyde with o- and p-phenylenediamine were reported and characterized based on their elemental analyses, IR and UV-vis spectroscopy and thermal analyses (TGA) and activity data show that the platinum( II) complexes are more potent antimicrobials than the parent Schiff base ligands against one or more microorganisms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation, spectroscopic and structural studies on charge-transfer complexes of 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline with some electron acceptors

TL;DR: In this article, the formation of 1:1 charge transfer complexes in the reactions of 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (Me2phen) with some acceptors such as chloranil (Chl), picric acid (HPA) and chloranilic acid (Ch2CA) was studied in the defined solvent at room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation and spectroscopic studies on charge-transfer complexes of 2,2'-bipyridine with picric and chloranilic acids

TL;DR: The infrared and (1)H NMR spectroscopic data indicate a charge-transfer interaction associated with a proton migration from the acceptor to the donor followed by intramolecular hydrogen bonding.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectroscopic studies on charge-transfer complexes formed in the reaction of ferric(III) acetylacetonate with σ- and π-acceptors

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of ferric(III) acetylacetonate (donor), Fe(acac) 3, with iodine as a σ-acceptor and with other different π-acceptors have been studied spectrophotometrically at room temperature in chloroform.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation, thermal and vibrational studies of [UO2(acac-o-phdn)(L)] (L=H2O, py, DMF and Et3N)

TL;DR: In this paper, four new dioxouranium(VI) complexes with the tetradentate dibasic Schiff base (acacac-o-phdn) derived from condensation of acetylacetone with o-phenylene diamine have been synthesized.
