Studies of Electrical and Thermal Characteristics of Natural Ester Immersed Transformer Compared with Mineral Oil Immersed and Palm Oil Immersed Transformer

TL;DR: In this article, the electrical and thermal characteristics of natural ester immersed transformer compared with mineral oil immersed transformer by designing and constructing three single-phase transformers with rated 400/1000V 10kVA, the first transformer used mineral oil, the second transformer used natural esters, and the last one used palm oil, for studying about electrical properties, thermal properties and chemical properties under different types of liquid insulation in each transformer.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Dielectric properties of mineral oil compared with natural ester

TL;DR: In this paper, the dielectric properties of the mineral oil, ELECTROL A, and the natural ester, FR3, are comparatively investigated, and it is found that the natural Ester shows superior dielectrics properties to the mineral Oil except the Dielectric dissipation factor.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Electrical characteristics of natural ester impregnated pressboards under different periods of impregnation

TL;DR: In this article, the electrical properties of natural ester impregnated pressboards under different impregnation periods were analyzed and the breakdown voltage and capacitance and dielectric dissipation factor of the natural esters with various conditions were examined in accordance with IEC 60247.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

The Polarization and Depolarization Current Characteristics of Mineral Oil, Natural Ester (FR3), Palm Oil, and Liquid Impregnated Pressboard

TL;DR: In this article, the PDC characteristics of mineral oil, natural ester (FR3), and palm oil under various temperatures were investigated for three cases as follows: 1) moisture content measurement according to ASTM D1533, 2) dielectric dissipation factor measurement as per ASTMD924, and 3) polarization current and depolarization current measurement at liquid temperature of 30°C, 50°C and 70°C respectively.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Comparison of Dissolved Gases in Natural Ester under Partial Discharges

TL;DR: In this article, the analysis of dissolved gases generated from partial discharge (PD) experiments was conducted in the test cell filled with natural ester (FR3), where a needle electrode with a tip radius of 10, 20, and 40 micrometers was used as high voltage electrode and the plane electrode had a diameter of 45 mm.
