An airbag comprises a right airbag section which expands at the right side ahead of the passenger, and a left airbag section which expands at the left side ahead of the passenger. Openings are provided on the facing faces of the right airbag section and the left airbag section at a portion partway along the direction of expansion, the perimeter portions of the openings and are sewn together. The inner space of the right airbag section and the left airbag section communicate through the openings.

An object of the present invention is to propose a novel thermoplastic resin composition having high impact resistance without degrading weather resistance even when the content of an impact modifier is small. A thermoplastic resin composition includes 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin (a) and 0.5 to 20 parts by weight of an impact modifier (b) containing a graft copolymer (b-1) containing at least one (meth)acrylate flexible polymer phase and a rigid polymer phase serving as the outermost part of the graft copolymer, a water-soluble polymer compound (b-2) having a physical gel-forming property, and a gelling agent (b-3). In the thermoplastic resin composition, the content of the water-soluble polymer compound (b-2) having the physical gel-forming property is 0.01 to 3.0 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the graft copolymer (b-1) and the content of the rigid polymer phase serving as the outermost part in the graft copolymer (b-1) is 0.5 to 10 percent by weight.

CONSTITUTION:An objective composition obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic elastomer composed of a styrene/butadiene block copolymer or a styrene/isoprene block copolymer with (A) 0.1-5 pts.wt. 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10- phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide, (B) 0.1-5 pts.wt. phenolic antioxidant such as 2,6-di-t-butyl-4-methylphenol and (C) 1-5 pts.wt. phosphorus-based antioxidant such as tris(phenylphenyl) phosphite.

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a raw material for dye, coating compound, agricultural chemical, or drug in high yield advantageously, by reacting a 2-mercaptobenzothiazole derivative with a chlorine gas in an organic solvent of aromatic hydrocarbon in the presence of a tertiary amine compound. CONSTITUTION:A compound shown by the formula I (X is H, lower alkyl, halogen-substitued lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, or halogen) is reacted with a chlorine gas in an aromatic hydrocarbon organic solvent such as benzene, toluene, xylene, ethylbenzene, cumene, chlorobenzene, etc. in the presence of a tertiary amine compound such as triethylamine, tributylamine, pyridine, N.N- dimethylaniline, 4-N.N-dimethylaminopyridine, etc., to give the aimed compound shown by the formula II, in high yield. This method provides hydrocloric acid and sulfuric acid as by-products. Since they can be easily removed out of the system by alkali treatment or filtration, countermeasures for pollution such as a smell, waste liquor treatment, etc., are carried out easily.

Production of 2-chlorobenzothiazole derivative

PURPOSE:To perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of an additive which is moved to the surface of a rubber sample by directly bringing the rubber sample into contact with a thin film chromatography plate, adsorbing the additive which is moved to the surface of the rubber sample with the thin film chromatography plate, and using various kinds of the thin film chromatography. CONSTITUTION:A rubber sample is directly placed on a thin film chromatography plate. A specified load is applied on the rubber sample. After the sample is left alone for a specified time, the rubber sample is removed. The ultraviolet and visible spectra of an additive which is adsorbed with the thin film gas chromatography plate are measured with a densitometer. The spectra are fixed with the maximum absorbing wavelength value and the spectrum wave form. The additive adsorbed with the thin film chromatography plate is developed by using a developing solution. The deployed and adsorped additive is colored with a coloring agent and identified with the moving rate and the color tone of the chromatogram. When various kinds of methods associated with the thin film chromatography are used, the additive which is moved to the surface of the rubber sample can quickly undergo qualitative and quantitative analyses.

Method for analyzing moving material to rubber surface

PURPOSE:To obtain a compound useful as a raw material for various additives and synthetic intermediate for surfactants, dyes, agricultural chemicals, medicines, etc., by adding metal powder to a mixture of dicyclohexyl disulfides containing dicyclohexyl trisulfide and heating the resultant mixture. CONSTITUTION:Metal powder, e.g. copper, iron, zinc or tin, alone or together is added to a mixture of dicyclohexyl sulfide containing dicyclohexyl trisulfide which is a reaction mixture obtained by reacting chlorocyclohexane with an alkali metal sulfide and the resultant mixture is heat-treated at 80-200 deg.C, preferably 100-160 deg.C to afford the aimed substance. EFFECT:The dicyclohexyl disulfide is readily obtained in high purity and yield and at a low cost.

Purification of dicyclohexyl disulfide

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals, in high yield and purity, by catalytically reducing N-methyl-2(or 7)-homopiperazinone in the presence of a dioxane solvent using a specific catalyst and cooling the reaction system immediately after the completion of reduction. CONSTITUTION:N-methyl-2(or 7)-homopiperazinone is used as a raw material and subjected to catalytic reduction usually at 100-350 deg.C, preferably 150-300 deg.C under 5-500kg/cm , preferably 30-150kg/cm pressure in a dioxane solvent in the presence of a copper-chromium catalyst. Immediately after the completion of the reduction, the reaction system is cooled to obtain the objective compound. The cooling is carried out e.g. by using a continuous reduction reactor, by taking the reaction system out of a batch autoclave reactor in the form of vapor or liquid, etc., immediately after the reduction, etc. A commercially available low-cost copper-chromium catalyst can be used as it is as the above catalyst.
