Midbrain hypometabolism in fatal familial insomnia: a case report and a statistical parametric mapping analysis of a korean family.
Mi Ji Lee,Ji Soo Shin,Eun Joo Chung,Sang Jin Kim,Soonwook Kwon,Jung-Hyun Kim,Sang Won Seo,Chang-Seok Ki,Duk L. Na +8 more
TL;DR: This is the first Korean report of FFI, in which the family showed male phenotypic predominance, and the patient's SPM analysis demonstrated brain hypometabolism in the midbrain and the hypothalamus, as well as the thalami, caudate nuclei, and multiple cortical regions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neuronal cell-surface protein neurexin 1 interaction with multi-PDZ domain protein MUPP1.
TL;DR: Using the yeast two-hybrid screening, it is found that neurexin 1 interacted with multi-PDZ domain protein 1 (MUPP1) through PDZ domain, suggesting a novel mechanism for localizing neureXin 1 to synaptic sites.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differential effect of obesity on the incidence of retinal vein occlusion with and without diabetes: a Korean nationwide cohort study.
Dong Won Paik,Kyungdo Han,Se Woong Kang,Don-Il Ham,Sang Jin Kim,Tae-Young Chung,Dong Hui Lim,Dong Hui Lim +7 more
TL;DR: Evidence is revealed that obesity has a different effect on the incidence of RVO in the presence and absence of DM, and a lower BMI was associated with a lower risk for RVO and vice versa.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preoperative serum thyroglobulin and changes in serum thyroglobulin during TSH suppression independently predict follicular thyroid carcinoma in thyroid nodules with a cytological diagnosis of follicular lesion.
Hye Jeong Kim,Ji-Oh Mok,Chul Hee Kim,Yeo Joo Kim,Sang Jin Kim,Hyeong Kyu Park,Dong Won Byun,Kyoil Suh,Myung Hi Yoo +8 more
TL;DR: Preoperative thyroglobulin and changes in serum Tg during TSH suppression independently predict FTC in thyroid nodules with a cytological diagnosis of follicular lesion.
Journal ArticleDOI
PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY FOR SYMPTOMATIC SUBFOVEAL RETINAL PIGMENT EPITHELIAL DETACHMENT IN CENTRAL SEROUS CHORIORETINOPATHY: Outcomes and Prognostic Factors
TL;DR: Subfoveal RPED in central serous chorioretinopathy responded well to reduced-fluence PDT, especially in younger patients with less RPED, and dysmorphopsia, rather than decreased visual acuity, is a main symptomatic presentation in subfovea RPED.
