2016 SOSORT guidelines: orthopaedic and rehabilitation treatment of idiopathic scoliosis during growth.
Stefano Negrini,Sabrina Donzelli,Angelo Gabriele Aulisa,Dariusz Czaprowski,Sanja Schreiber,Sanja Schreiber,Jean Claude de Mauroy,Helmut Diers,Theodoros B Grivas,Patrick Knott,Tomasz Kotwicki,Andrea Lebel,Cindy Marti,Toru Maruyama,Joseph P O'Brien,Nigel Price,Eric C. Parent,Manuel Rigo,Michele Romano,Luke Stikeleather,James H Wynne,Fabio Zaina +21 more
TL;DR: The 2016 SOSORT guidelines were developed based on the current evidence on CTIS and include a total of 68 recommendations divided into following topics: bracing, PSSE to prevent scoliosis progression during growth, other conservative treatments, respiratory function and exercises and assessment.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of Schroth exercises added to the standard of care on the quality of life and muscle endurance in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis—an assessor and statistician blinded randomized controlled trial: “SOSORT 2015 Award Winner”
Sanja Schreiber,Eric C. Parent,Elham Khodayari Moez,Douglas M. Hedden,Doug Hill,Marc Moreau,Edmond Lou,Elise M. Watkins,Sarah C. Southon +8 more
TL;DR: Supervised Schroth exercises provided added benefit to the standard of care by improving SRS-22r pain, self-image scores and BME, and it is hypothesized that in the AIS population receiving conservative treatments, different QOL questionnaires with adequate responsiveness are needed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Schroth Physiotherapeutic Scoliosis-Specific Exercises Added to the Standard of Care Lead to Better Cobb Angle Outcomes in Adolescents with Idiopathic Scoliosis - an Assessor and Statistician Blinded Randomized Controlled Trial
Sanja Schreiber,Eric C. Parent,Elham Khodayari Moez,Douglas M. Hedden,Douglas L. Hill,Marc Moreau,Edmond Lou,Elise M. Watkins,Sarah C. Southon +8 more
TL;DR: Schroth PSSE added to the standard of care were superior compared to standard of Care alone for reducing the curve severity in patients with AIS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhaled short-acting bronchodilators for managing emergency childhood asthma: an overview of reviews.
TL;DR: This overview of systematic reviews (SRs) aimed to synthesize, appraise, and present all SR evidence on the efficacy and safety of inhaled short‐acting bronchodilators to treat asthma and wheeze exacerbations in children 0–18 years presenting to the ED.
Journal ArticleDOI
Patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis perceive positive improvements regardless of change in the Cobb angle - Results from a randomized controlled trial comparing a 6-month Schroth intervention added to standard care and standard care alone. SOSORT 2018 Award winner.
TL;DR: The threshold of change in the Cobb angle in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) who perceive improvement in a 6-months randomized controlled trial comparing a Schroth exercise intervention added to the standard of care to thestandard of care alone was determined.
