TL;DR: In this article, a set of desired required network provided functionalities is identified, and a slice identifier for each slice in the set of identified network slices is assigned to each slice.
Abstract: Techniques are described using network slice information to negotiate and select network services by determining a set of desired required network provided functionalities; identifying a set of network slices providing one or more of the functionalities in the set of required functionalities; and communicating, to a network, a slice identifier for each slice in the set of the identified network slices.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe techniques to communicate policy information and policy information requests between user equipments (UEs) and a core network using control plane signaling, where non-access stratum (NAS) messages may be used to communicate up-to-date policy information from the core network to the UE.
Abstract: Techniques are described herein to communicate policy information and policy information requests between user equipments (UEs) and a core network using control plane signaling. In some examples, non-access stratum (NAS) messages may be used to communicate policy information requests from a UE to the core network. Similarly, NAS messages may be used to communicate up-to-date policy information from the core network to the UE. In some examples, the core network may include number of functions to manage the communication of policy information with the UE. In some examples where the UE is roaming away from its home network, the core network may engage in additional signaling to pass policy information to the UE.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a low-power protocol consisting of a wake-up receiver configured to transition into a receive mode according to a medium access schedule, and a low power processor configured to synchronize a clock of the wakeup receiver to a clock based on at least one of the synchronization signals.
Abstract: A station configured to operate in a wireless network includes low-power protocol circuitry configured to operate according to a low-power protocol coupled to primary protocol circuitry configured to operate according to a first protocol. The low-power protocol circuitry includes a wake-up receiver configured to transition into a receive mode according to a medium access schedule. The wake-up receiver is also configured to receive synchronization signals from a wake-up transmitter of an access point in the wireless network. Each synchronization signal is received according to a slot-skipping transmit schedule of the wake-up transmitter. The low-power protocol circuitry also includes a low-power processor configured to synchronize a clock of the wake-up receiver to a clock of the wake-up transmitter based on at least one of the synchronization signals.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method of operation of an electronic device includes receiving a discovery message from an access point using a wake-up receiver of the electronic device, which is associated with a first power consumption that is less than a second power consumption associated with operation of the modem.
Abstract: A method of operation of an electronic device includes receiving a discovery message from an access point using a wakeup receiver of the electronic device. The method further includes activating a modem of the electronic device in response to receiving the discovery message. Operation of the wakeup receiver is associated with a first power consumption that is less than a second power consumption associated with operation of the modem. The method further includes performing an association process with the access point using the modem after activating the modem.

TL;DR: In this paper, an efficient wake-up protocol for discovery between two devices is proposed, where the first device can wake up at a predetermined drift time, and the second device can remain awake for a very short duration, depending on the packet length of the discovery signal or the interval between each transmitted discovery signal.
Abstract: Aspects of the subject matter described in this disclosure can be implemented in an efficient wakeup protocol for discovery between two devices. A first device configured to transmit discovery signals can wake up at a predetermined drift time, and a second device configured to receive the discovery signals can wake up at a predetermined wakeup time shortly after the predetermined drift time. The second device can remain awake for a very short duration, where the duration can be based on the packet length of the discovery signal or the interval between each transmitted discovery signal. Upon receiving a discovery signal, the second device can pair with the first device so that further communications can occur between the two devices.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the effect of different types of games on the performance of the players and propose a game-theoretic approach to solve the problem of game-changing games.

TL;DR: In this paper, a second relay capable apparatus for wireless communications is described. But the second apparatus does not access the access point through the interface if the request has been granted by the first one.
Abstract: A second apparatus for wireless communications and a corresponding method is disclosed. The second apparatus generates a request for transmission in a wireless medium, the request comprising a request for a first relay capable apparatus to provide an interface to an access point, outputs the request for transmission over the wireless medium and accesses the access point through the interface if the request has been granted by the first apparatus. The request specifies a wireless network operator, to enable the first apparatus to limit the interface for communication with an access point belonging to the wireless network operator.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for synchronizing wireless devices within a peer-to-peer network is proposed, which includes receiving one or more synchronization messages and discarding the received synchronization messages if the difference exceeds a threshold.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and devices for synchronizing wireless devices within a peer to peer network.SOLUTION: A method includes receiving one or more synchronization messages. Each synchronization message includes timing information and a cluster identifier. The timing information includes anchor timing information, and the cluster identifier has the same value as a cluster identifier of a device. The method further includes determining whether or not the difference between a time value at which received synchronization messages receive anchor timing information at last and a time value held for the device is greater than a threshold. The method further includes discarding the received synchronization messages if the difference exceeds the threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
