The shoot and root behavior and flowering time of two chickpea genotypes (kabuli and desi types) was examined under well watered and moisture stress conditions in split drainpipes in 2006. The data on shoot and root fresh weight and dry weight and plant and soil moisture percentage were recorded at the late flowering stage. The observations on root and soil moisture were recorded at three depth level with gap of 15 cm each. The results revealed that both the plant types of chickpea behaved alike except for days to flower initiation which was significantly different in the two varieties. Root and Shoot fresh weights were significantly greater in well watered conditions, but on the other hand, there was no any significant effect of moisture stress on shoot dry matter content, suggesting that higher weight of fresh shoot was due to high uptake of water under well watered conditions which evaporated after drying. Fresh root weight was only significantly affected at 30 cm depth level due to varieties and 45 cm depth level due to treatments. The root moisture percentage was significantly affected at 15, 30 and 45 cm depth level due to varieties × treatments interaction, varieties and treatments, respectively. There found no significant difference in dry weight among the rooting depths. The cultivar Sheenghar-2000 retained higher root moisture content (7.57%) at 15 cm depth level under well watered.

Chickpea being a highly self pollinated crop, the scope for exploitation of hybrid vigour will depend on the direction and magnitude of heterosis, biological feasibility and the type of gene action involved. The present investigation was carried out to study heterosis for yield and physiological attributes in chickpea utilising 21F 1 s and seven parents from a 7 x 7 diallel set of crosses during rabi 2011-12 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Nandyal - 518 502, A.P., India. Crosses NBeG-3 x Vihar, JG-11 x Vihar and ICCV 05106 x Vihar exhibited significant heterosis for days to first flowering and days to maturity in desirable negative direction. For yield and yield attributes viz., number of branches per plant, number of pods per plant JG-11 x ICCV 05106, JG-11 x KAK-2 and ICCV 05106 x Vihar recorded significantly higher per se performance and heterosis over mid parent and better parent. MNK-1 x KAK-2 recorded significantly higher mid parental heterosis and heterobeltosis for physiological attributes like shoot biomass per plant, harvest index and root length. Hence, these promising crosses could be utilized in future breeding programmes for improving earliness, seed yield and drought tolerance in chickpea.

Heterosis for yield and physiological traits in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.).

In the present investigation, seven chickpea genotypes and their twenty one crosses (excluding reciprocals) were grown at Post Graduate Institute Farm, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. Combining ability analysis was carried out in 7 x 7 parental half diallel fashion for grain yield and its components in chickpea. General combining ability and specific combining ability variances were highly significant for all the characters indicating importance of both additive as well as non-additive type of gene actions in the inheritance of studied traits i.e., days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, plant height, plant spread, number of primary branches per plant, number of secondary branches per plant, number of fruiting branches per plant, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, 100 seed weight and seed yield per plant. The parent Phule Vikram, JAKI-9218, Digvijay and GNG-2207 were high yielding with good general combining ability for grain yield per plant and some of its components, which can be used in future hybridization programme. Whereas, the crosses GNG-2207 X Digvijay, Digvijay x WR-315 and Phule Vikram x Digvijay recorded the highest sca effects. These crosses should be exploited for obtaining recombinants in advance segregating generations.

Combining ability analysis for grain yield and its components in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)

Rhythmic shaking or tremors in a limb are symptoms of the medical condition known as Parkinson's Disease(PD) that affects the nervous system. A person with PD manifests PD-related symptoms. The condition slows down movement, affects speech, and the ability to perform a task, and writing becomes time-consuming for a person suffering from it. The prevalence of PD is 1-2 per 1000 people at any time. Parkinson's Disease cases rise with age and affect 1% of those over the age of 60. Even in this day and age, despite the numerous technological developments and advancements that have been made, the process of early disease detection is still challenging to achieve. As a result of this, it is important to develop automatic methods that are based on machine learning and that assist clinicians in accurately identifying this disease in its early phases. Literature supports the link between Parkinson's disease and the cardiovascular system. In research, the main objective is to establish the correlation between PD and heart disease by using a Machine learning algorithm named Extreme Gradient Boosting. The experiments were run utilizing python libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, and Scikit Learn. The study and experiment suggested that the PD in patients suffering from heart disease (HD) is comparatively less than in patients with a healthy heart.

A framework is proposed based on extracting coherent aspects from the reviews and applying the extractive summarization method to generate summaries. In addition, providing insights into the reviews of tourist attractions by using aspect-based sentiment analysis. The results are evaluated using crowdsourcing, Fairsumm, and Centroid method. The crowdsourcing method gives the best result on aspect-based summaries.
