Abstract: A device that includes at least one processing unit and stores a multi-mode mapping program for execution by the at least one processing unit is described. The program includes a user interface (UI). The UI includes a display area for displaying a two-dimensional (2D) presentation of a map or a three-dimensional (3D) presentation of the map. The UI also includes a selectable 3D control for directing the program to transition between the 2D and 3D presentations and for having a first appearance when the display area displays the 2D presentation of the map and a second appearance when the display area displays the 3D presentation of the map.

Abstract: A portable electronic device with a touch screen display for photo management is disclosed. One aspect of the invention involves a computer-implemented method in which the portable electronic device displays an array of thumbnail images corresponding to a set of photographic images. The device replaces the displayed array of thumbnail images with a user-selected photographic image upon detecting a user contact with a corresponding thumbnail image in the array. The user-selected photographic image is displayed at a larger scale than the corresponding thumbnail image. The portable device displays a different photographic image in replacement of the user-selected photographic image in accordance with a scrolling gesture. The scrolling gesture comprises a substantially horizontal movement of user contact with the touch screen display.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device, especially, a portable device for photograph management such as digital photographing, photographing operation, and photographic electronic mail.SOLUTION: A portable electronic device for displaying an array of thumb nail images corresponding to one set of photographic images displaces the array of the displayed thumb nail images with a photographic image selected by a user when user contact with the corresponding thumb nail image in the array is detected. The photographic image selected by the user is displayed by a scale which is larger than that of the corresponding thumb nail image. The portable device displays a different photographic image according to a scroll operation instead of the photographic image selected by the user.
