The invention discloses a beam screen for a high-energy particle accelerator. The first wall of the beam screen is located at the outer side of the second wall of the beam screen, a first coolant channel and a second coolant channel are both located between the first wall of the beam screen and the second wall of the beam screen, the outer wall of the first coolant channel and the outer wall of the second coolant channel are in contact with the inner wall of the first wall of the beam screen and the outer wall of the second wall of the beam screen; the first wall of the beam screen is providedwith a first through groove and a second through groove in an axial direction, wherein the first through groove directly faces the first coolant channel, the first through groove is sealed through the first coolant channel, the second through grooves corresponds to the second coolant channel and is sealed through the second coolant channel, the second wall of the beam screen is provided with a third through groove and a fourth through groove in an axial direction, the inner wall of the first wall of the beam screen is provided with a heat dissipation block in an axial direction, and the heatdissipation block is provided with a third coolant channel. The beam screen can effectively improve the heat dissipation performance of the beam pipeline in a supper proton- proton collider.

Beam screen for high-energy particle accelerator

An accelerator guide comprising an electron source 202 at a first end 204, a target 206 at a second end 208, and a plurality of accelerating cavities 210 coupled in series along a longitudinal axis 212 between the first end 204 and the second end 208; and a shielding structure 304, 306, 308, 310 enclosing the accelerator guide. This forms a linear accelerating cavity. The shielding structure 304, 306, 308, 310 may have an inner wall surface conformal to the contour of the accelerator guide as viewed in the longitudinal axis 212. The contour may be circular, oval or obround. The shielding structure may be a mono-block and a guide slide 220 may be used to provide a slidably engaged surface to the inner wall. The shield 304, 306, 308, 310 may be a radiation or magnetic shield. Removal of the accelerator guide from the shield structure 304, 306, 308, 310 may be achieved by orientating the longitudinal axis 212 horizontally.

This superconducting accelerator comprises: an accelerating cavity that forms a space in which a charged particle beam is accelerated in a superconducting state; and a refrigerant vessel (11) that is disposed on the outer peripheral side of the acceleration cavity and in which a refrigerant for cooling the accelerating cavity is filled in a gap to the accelerating cavity. The superconducting accelerator further comprises a pair of pressing members (21) that are provided on the outer peripheral section of the refrigerant vessel (11) and are respectively provided to both end sections of the charged particle beam in the beam axis direction in the acceleration cavity or to both end sections in a direction orthogonal to the beam axis direction. The superconducting accelerator further comprises: a wire (22) that is continuously provided on the outer peripheral section of the refrigerant vessel (11) and that generates tension in a direction that brings the pair of pressing members (21) closer to each other; and a tension adjustment part (25) that adjusts the tension generated by the wire (22).
