Micro-structural characterization of the composites has revealed fairly uniform distribution and some amount of grain refinement in the specimens. Further, it was observed that the micro-hardness improve when increasing the milling time and the reinforcement content due to presence of hard Al2O3 particles. Was also observed a low wear rate exhibited by the Al/Al2O3/Gr hybrid composites due to presence of Al2O3 and Gr which they acted as load bearing elements and solid lubricant respectively. The observed wear rate and micro-hardness have been correlated with microstructural analyses.

A novel Cd(II)-ion-imprinted silica-supported hybrid sorbent functionalized with tetradentate Schiff bases ligands derived from 2-thiophenecarboxaldehyde and 3-[2-(2-aminoethylamino)ethylamino]propyltrimethoxysilane for the selective removal of Cd(II) ions from aqueous media had been synthesized by a surface-imprinting technique in conjunction with a sol–gel process and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, and thermogravimetric analysis. The results revealed that the static adsorption capacity of Cd(II) was 29.1 mg·g–1. The imprinted hybrid sorbent exhibited a fast equilibrium time with 30 min, had a stable binding capacity in the range of pH 3.5–9.5, and showed the selective adsorption for Cd(II) in binary ions systems of Cd(II)/Zn(II), Cd(II)/Ni(II), Cd(II)/Cu(II), and Cd(II)/Pb(II). Forced convection heat transfer of ethylene glycol based nanofluid with Fe 3 O 4 inside a porous medium is studied using the electric field. The control volume based finite element method (CVFEM) is selected for numerical simulation. The impact of the radiation parameter ( R d ), the supplied voltage (△ ψ ), the volume fraction of nanofluid ( φ ), the Darcy number ( Da ), and the Reynolds number ( Re ) on nanofluid treatment is demonstrated. Results prove that thermal radiation increases the temperature gradient near the positive electrode. Distortion of isotherms increases with the enhance of the Darcy number and the Coulomb force.

Investigation of Coulomb force effects on ethylene glycol based nanofluid laminar flow in a porous enclosure

In this review, the formability characteristics of Aluminium based composites using FEM and statistical tool are discussed. Formability characteristics of Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) have been influenced by many factors viz., temperature, pressure, volume fraction of reinforcement, size and shape of particles. Investigation on wall friction, friction between particles and matrix powder are also presented. Detailed review has been carried out on the workability studies on upsetting of MMCs and forming limit diagrams. The state of the art has been discussed with the help of literatures.
