Neural network analysis of dynamic sequences of EUS elastography used for the differential diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer
Adrian Saftoiu,Peter Vilmann,Florin Gorunescu,Dan Ionuţ Gheonea,Marina Gorunescu,Tudorel Ciurea,Gabriel Lucian Popescu,Alexandru Iordache,Hazem Hassan,Sevastiţa Iordache +9 more
TL;DR: EUS elastography is a promising method that allows characterization and differentiation of normal pancreas, chronic pancreatitis, and pancreatic cancer and enabled an optimal prediction of the types of pancreatic lesions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamic analysis of EUS used for the differentiation of benign and malignant lymph nodes.
Adrian Saftoiu,Peter Vilmann,Tudorel Ciurea,Gabriel Lucian Popescu,Alexandru Iordache,Hazem Hassan,Florin Gorunescu,Sevastiţa Iordache +7 more
TL;DR: Computer-enhanced dynamic analysis based on hue histograms of the EUS elastography movies represents a promising method that allows the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant lymph nodes, offering complementary information added to conventional EUS imaging.
Journal ArticleDOI
VEGF expression in pancreatic cancer and other malignancies: a review of the literature
Mădălin Ionuţ Costache,Mihai Ioana,Sevastiţa Iordache,D. Ene,Cornelia Alexandra Costache,Adrian Saftoiu +5 more
TL;DR: VEGF-A is the most specific and prominent angiogenic factor among all family members and VEGFR-2 is themost important receptor in evaluating the angiogenesis in pancreatic cancer, so VEGF overexpression may be considered as a diagnostic marker and as a poor prognostic factor of the disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autofluorescence imaging and magnification endoscopy.
TL;DR: Several "red-flag" endoscopic techniques used to enhance visualization of the vascular pattern of preneoplastic and neoplastic lesions (e.g. trimodal imaging including autofluorescence imaging, magnifying endoscopy and narrow band imaging) are analyzed and may enhance the diagnosis and characterization of mucosal lesions in the GI tract.
Journal ArticleDOI
Real-time sono-elastography in the diagnosis of diffuse liver diseases.
Dan Ionuţ Gheonea,Adrian Saftoiu,Tudorel Ciurea,Florin Gorunescu,Sevastiţa Iordache,Gabriel Lucian Popescu,Smaranda Belciug,Marina Gorunescu,Larisa Săndulescu +8 more
TL;DR: Transabdominal real-time elastography is certainly a very useful method in depicting liver hardness, although it is incompletely tested in large multicenter studies.
