Location and speed detection (LSD) is one of the key technologies of high speed maglev train. The traction system needs precise location and speed information to carry out the traction task of the train normally and reliably. Firstly, several conventional location and speed detection methods are introduced. And then, the method based on the tooth and slots of long stator is analyzed in detail. At last, a switch scheme is proposed to solve the long stator joint problem, the validity of which is proved by experiment.

MagneMotion's linear synchronous motor (LSM) driven assembly automation and material handling system designs

Aiming at the problem that position measurement precision of relative position detection sensor is influenced by the fluctuation of suspension height, an approach to decouple the suspension height and displacement is proposed. Firstly, the relationship between the suspension height and output signals of sensor is founded, by analyzing the working principles and signal processing flow. And then, suspension height and displacement decoupling method is proposed. At last, a comparison experiment is presented, whose results prove that this approach can greatly improve the location precision and accuracy.

Research on Suspension Height and Displacement Decoupling of Relative Position Detection Sensor for High-Speed Maglev Train

This paper addresses the problem of position detection for permanent magnet linear synchronous motors (PMLSM). Considering the characteristic of PMLSM, an original method based on end side magnetic field of the PMLSM is proposed. The method detects the real-time value of the magnetic field utilizing at least two linear Hall sensors which are fixed on the mover along the direction of the linear motor. The digital filtering techniques are used to deal with the magnetic field data smoothly. A farther mathematical method is developed to interpolate the normalized sinusoidal curve for improving the resolution and the precision.

Precise position detection technique for permanent magnet linear synchronous motors

As a new type of rail transit, maglev traffic has shown a rapid development momentum. This paper designs a scheme that integrates the functions of position, speed and height measurement for maglev train. The principle of improving accuracy of the scheme is introduced in detail, and the coding law considering height also is analyzed. Finally, the scheme was applied to practical motor, and the effectiveness in improving accuracy was verified by MATLAB simulation.

The Position and Speed Detection of Linear Synchronous Motor Based on Vernier Caliper Principle

It is necessary to detect rotor position accurately for field oriented control system of synchronous motor.A new method is forwarded to detect the rotor position for linear synchronous motor in high speed maglev train based on inductive sensor and DSP.The hardware of the inductive sensor,the teeth-slot signals detection principle of long stator,and signals processed with DSP are elucidated.Measurement accuracy and tolerances are analyzed,and several improvements are also presented.In the speed and positioning experiment system of high speed maglev train,the measurement accuracy is less than 3° of the winding pitch of the long stator and can meet the requirement of the operating control system of high-speed maglev train.
