Prevention of Haemophilus influenzae Type b Colonization by Vaccination: Correlation with Serum Anti-Capsular IgG Concentration

TL;DR: Among vaccinated infants, protection against colonization was significantly correlated with anti-Hib CPS concentrations >/=5 microgram/mL 1 month following the third dose of vaccine, suggesting that the concentration needed for protection against Colonization is greater than that required for protection for invasive disease.

TL;DR: Although lack of insurance or VFC coverage and concerns about multiple simultaneous injections may somewhat delay the initial use of newly recommended vaccines, physicians rapidly begin to provide new vaccines that they believe to be beneficial once those vaccines are incorporated into existing payment mechanisms.
