Deep learning is a form of machine learning that enables computers to learn from experience and understand the world in terms of a hierarchy of concepts. Because the computer gathers knowledge from experience, there is no need for a human computer operator to formally specify all the knowledge that the computer needs. The hierarchy of concepts allows the computer to learn complicated concepts by building them out of simpler ones; a graph of these hierarchies would be many layers deep. This book introduces a broad range of topics in deep learning. The text offers mathematical and conceptual background, covering relevant concepts in linear algebra, probability theory and information theory, numerical computation, and machine learning. It describes deep learning techniques used by practitioners in industry, including deep feedforward networks, regularization, optimization algorithms, convolutional networks, sequence modeling, and practical methodology; and it surveys such applications as natural language processing, speech recognition, computer vision, online recommendation systems, bioinformatics, and videogames. Finally, the book offers research perspectives, covering such theoretical topics as linear factor models, autoencoders, representation learning, structured probabilistic models, Monte Carlo methods, the partition function, approximate inference, and deep generative models. Deep Learning can be used by undergraduate or graduate students planning careers in either industry or research, and by software engineers who want to begin using deep learning in their products or platforms. Deep Learning

As a promising machine learning tool to handle the accurate pattern recognition from complex raw data, deep learning (DL) is becoming a powerful method to add intelligence to wireless networks with large-scale topology and complex radio conditions. DL uses many neural network layers to achieve a brain-like acute feature extraction from high-dimensional raw data. It can be used to find the network dynamics (such as hotspots, interference distribution, congestion points, traffic bottlenecks, spectrum availability, etc.) based on the analysis of a large amount of network parameters (such as delay, loss rate, link signal-to-noise ratio, etc.). Therefore, DL can analyze extremely complex wireless networks with many nodes and dynamic link quality. This paper performs a comprehensive survey of the applications of DL algorithms for different network layers, including physical layer modulation/coding, data link layer access control/resource allocation, and routing layer path search, and traffic balancing. The use of DL to enhance other network functions, such as network security, sensing data compression, etc., is also discussed. Moreover, the challenging unsolved research issues in this field are discussed in detail, which represent the future research trends of DL-based wireless networks. This paper can help the readers to deeply understand the state-of-the-art of the DL-based wireless network designs, and select interesting unsolved issues to pursue in their research.

Deep Learning for Intelligent Wireless Networks: A Comprehensive Survey

Social media is a powerful source of communication among people to share their sentiments in the form of opinions and views about any topic or article, which results in an enormous amount of unstructured information. Business organizations need to process and study these sentiments to investigate data and to gain business insights. Hence, to analyze these sentiments, various machine learning, and natural language processing-based approaches have been used in the past. However, deep learning-based methods are becoming very popular due to their high performance in recent times. This paper provides a detailed survey of popular deep learning models that are increasingly applied in sentiment analysis. We present a taxonomy of sentiment analysis and discuss the implications of popular deep learning architectures. The key contributions of various researchers are highlighted with the prime focus on deep learning approaches. The crucial sentiment analysis tasks are presented, and multiple languages are identified on which sentiment analysis is done. The survey also summarizes the popular datasets, key features of the datasets, deep learning model applied on them, accuracy obtained from them, and the comparison of various deep learning models. The primary purpose of this survey is to highlight the power of deep learning architectures for solving sentiment analysis problems.

Sentiment analysis using deep learning architectures: a review

Human language can be described as a complex network of linked words. In such a treatment, each distinct word in language is a vertex of this web, and neighboring words in sentences are connected by edges. It was recently found (Ferrer and Sol\'e) that the distribution of the numbers of connections of words in such a network is of a peculiar form which includes two pronounced power-law regions. Here we treat language as a self-organizing network of interacting words. In the framework of this concept, we completely describe the observed Word Web structure without fitting.

Language as an Evolving Word Web

How different cultures react and respond given a crisis is predominant in a society’s norms and political will to combat the situation. Often, the decisions made are necessitated by events, social pressure, or the need of the hour, which may not represent the nation’s will. While some are pleased with it, others might show resentment. Coronavirus (COVID-19) brought a mix of similar emotions from the nations towards the decisions taken by their respective governments. Social media was bombarded with posts containing both positive and negative sentiments on the COVID-19, pandemic, lockdown, and hashtags past couple of months. Despite geographically close, many neighboring countries reacted differently to one another. For instance, Denmark and Sweden, which share many similarities, stood poles apart on the decision taken by their respective governments. Yet, their nation’s support was mostly unanimous, unlike the South Asian neighboring countries where people showed a lot of anxiety and resentment. The purpose of this study is to analyze reaction of citizens from different cultures to the novel Coronavirus and people’s sentiment about subsequent actions taken by different countries. Deep long short-term memory (LSTM) models used for estimating the sentiment polarity and emotions from extracted tweets have been trained to achieve state-of-the-art accuracy on the sentiment140 dataset. The use of emoticons showed a unique and novel way of validating the supervised deep learning models on tweets extracted from Twitter.

There has been lot of work in the field of sentiment analysis of twitter data. This survey focuses mainly on sentiment analysis of twitter data which is helpful to analyze the information in the tweets where opinions are highly unstructured, heterogeneous and are either positive or negative, or neutral in some cases. In this paper, we provide a survey and a comparative analyses of existing techniques for opinion mining like machine learning and lexicon-based approaches, together with evaluation metrics. Using various machine learning algorithms like Naive Bayes, Max Entropy, and Support Vector Machine, we provide a research on twitter data streams.General challenges and applications of Sentiment Analysis on Twitter are also discussed in this paper.

Sentiment Analysis of Twitter Data: A Survey of Techniques

A common and standard approach to model text document is bag-of-words. This model is suitable for capturing word frequency, however structural and semantic information is ignored. Graph representation is mathematical constructs and can model relationship and structural information effectively. A text can appropriately represented as Graph using vertex as feature term and edge relation can be significant relation between the feature terms. Text representation using Graph model provides computations related to various operations like term weight, ranking which is helpful in many applications in information retrieval. This paper presents a systematic survey of existing work on Graph based representation of text and also focused on Graph based analysis of text document for different operations in information retrieval. In this process taxonomy of Graph based representation and analysis of text document is derived and result of different methods of Graph based text representation and analysis are discussed. The survey results shows that Graph based representation is appropriate way of representing text document and improved result of analysis over traditional model for different text applications.

Manual summarization of large documents of texts is tedious and error prone. Also, the results in such kind of summarization may lead to different results for a particular document. Thus, Automatic text summarization has become important due to the tremendous growth of information and data. It chooses the most informative part of text and forms summaries that reveal the main purpose of the given document. It yields summary produced by summarization system which allows readers to comprehend the content of document instead for reading each and every individual document. So, the overall intention of Text Summarizer is to provide the meaning of text in less words and sentences. Summarization can be categorized as: Abstractive summarization and Extractive summarization. This case study is based on an extractive concept implemented on the studied models. Numerous automatic text summarization systems are handy today for English and other foreign languages. But when it comes to Indian languages, we observe inadequate number of automatic summarizers. Our efforts in this direction are mainly for developing automatic text summarizer for marathi Language. We look forward to evaluate the obtained summaries using ROUGE metric. This paper describes a multi document marathi extractive summarizer.

Marathi Extractive Text Summarizer Using Graph Based Model

Computer based medical decision support system (MDSS) can be useful for the physicians with its fast and accurate decision making process. Predicting the existence of heart disease accurately, results in saving life of patients followed by proper treatment. The main objective of our paper is to present a MDSS for heart disease classification based on sequential minimal optimization (SMO) technique in support vector machine (SVM). In this we illustrated the UCI machine learning repository data of Cleveland heart disease database; we trained SVM by using SMO technique. Training a SVM requires the solution of a very large QP optimization problem..SMO algorithm breaks this large optimization problem into small sub-problems. Both the training and testing phases give the accuracy on each record. The results proved that the MDSS is able to carry out heart disease diagnosis accurately in fast way and on a large dataset it shown good ability of prediction.
