Investigation of Antibacterial Activity on Cotton Fabrics with Cold Plasma in the Presence of a Magnetic Field
TL;DR: In this paper, a DC magnetron sputtering system was used to create antibacterial properties on cotton fabrics, and a copper anode and cathode were used, and samples were placed on the anode.
Book ChapterDOI
Antibacterial Agents in Textile Industry
Sheila Shahidi,Jakub Wiener +1 more
TL;DR: The use of natural antimicrobial agents on textiles dates back to antiquity, when the ancient Egyptians used spices and herbs to preserve mummy warps as mentioned in this paper, and they have been utilized to impart antibacterial activity to textiles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of metal absorption and antibacterial activity on cotton fabric modified by low temperature plasma
Sheila Shahidi,Abosaeed Rashidi,Mahmood Ghoranneviss,A. Anvari,Mohammad Karim Rahimi,M. Bameni Moghaddam,Jakub Wiener +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the silver particle absorption and antibacterial activity of cotton fabric when modified by low temperature plasma were investigated, which consisted of plasma pre-functionalization followed by one-step wet treatment with silver nitrate solution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of plasma sputtering treatment on natural dyeing and antibacterial activity of wool fabrics
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of plasma sputtering treatment on the natural dyeing properties of wool and the possibility of substituting it for mordant treatment have been studied, and the results show that the plasma treatment has improved the natural coloring properties of yarn and has also increased the efficiency of its antibacterial activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Carbon nanotube and its applications in textile industry – A review
TL;DR: One of the major components of nanotechnology is Carbon nanotube (CNT) that can have a length-to-diameter ratio more than 1,000,000 as mentioned in this paper.
