Abstract: The amorphous alloys of Co50Fe20Cu2V8B20 are successfully obtained by using the mechanical alloying technique. The sample is analyzed by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. The DSC result of the powder sample milled for 120 h shows a complete amorphous phase and a wide supercooled liquid region (Tx - Tg ≃ 80 K).

Abstract: We have investigated the photoinduced transformation of C60 film in air at 300 K by means of Raman scattering spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM). In the Raman experiments, we have observed a new Raman band at 1426 cm-1, which is absent in the photoinduced polymerized C60 phase. Furthermore, we have investigated the surface structure of the C60 film with variation of the photo-irradiation time in air by using AFM, and have found some lamella-like structures. We have ascribed the 1426 cm-1 band and the lamella-like structures to the formation of fragmentary graphite in the surface of C60 film.
