A pipe-covering member, which has the outer circumferential surface of a portion of a pipe line as a covering target and which is for covering said covering target, has a shape such that a form that surrounds the covering target is divided into a specified number of divisions in the circumferential direction and has a thermoplastic resin layer at least on the surface layer of the contact surface with the covering target. A pipe-covering method comprises: a step for manufacturing a combination of pipe-covering members to have a form that surrounds a covering target; a step for heating the covering target to a temperature that melts the thermoplastic resin layer or higher; a step for covering the pipe-covering members on the covering target; a step for pressing the pipe-covering members so that the covering target and the pipe-covering members are pressure-welded; and a step for cooling the pipe-covering members to the heat resistance temperature of the thermoplastic resin layer or lower.
