In this paper a novel wideband recursive digital integrator and differentiator is presented. The integrator is obtained by interpolating three digital integration techniques and the new differentiator is obtained by modifying its transfer function appropriately. Recursive wideband digital integrator and differentiator

In this paper, new designs of first order microwave integrator are proposed by using six equal length transmission line sections. One of the proposed designs is obtained by changing the normalizing frequency of existing design of microwave integrator and the other design is obtained by optimizing the characteristic impedances of transmission line sections. The simulated results are almost close with the ideal ones in the frequency range of 3GHz to 5GHz for one of the designs and 4GHz to 10GHz for other design.

New designs of first order microwave integrator

A new methodology to design a microwave filter is discussed. The filter designed is a Butterworth low-pass filter of order five which is obtained in digital domain using chain scattering parameters for serial transmission lines and a shunt-connected open-circuited stub. Colliding Bodies Optimization (CBO) algorithm is used for approximating the magnitude response of desired transfer function with the ideal one. Superiority of the results obtained from CBO in comparison to some widely used optimization algorithms, viz., real-coded genetic algorithm, gravitation search algorithm, and particle swarm optimization is shown. It is seen that CBO outperforms the other algorithms in terms of magnitude error parameters with passband and stopband error values of −43.62 dB and −48.205 dB, respectively. Afterward, the obtained configuration is then simulated on ADS using the substrate Rogers RO3003 having permittivity value of 3 and 0.75 mm thickness. The microstrip Butterworth low-pass filter is found to have 3.4 GHz cutoff frequency which is capable of covering various microwave applications.

Design and implementation of second-order microwave integrator

In this paper, firstly the time-constant of an integrator is described in continuous as well as in the discrete-time domains. Further, a simple relation is expressed to find the time-constant of an integrator from continuous-time domain to discrete-time domain or vice-versa. Thereafter, the microwave integrators of different time-constants are obtained by optimizing the characteristic impedance of an open-circuited shunt stub using linear programming approach in z-domain. It is clear that all the microwave integrators of different time-constants are realized only by using a single open-circuited shunt stub.

A Simple Approach to Control the Time-constant of Microwave Integrators

The bilinear transformation is employed to represent the trapezoidal-rule integrator in the Z domain. This formulation, in conjunction with the representations of transmission-line elements in the Z domain, leads to the transmission-line configuration that is eligible for a microwave integrator. A microstrip circuit is implemented to verify the feasibility of the technique.
