The electrolytic capacitor according to this invention contains an electroconductive polymer, and an electroconductive assisting liquid having lower conductivity than common electrolytes, the electroconductive assisting liquid being formed as follows. The electroconductive assisting liquid contains a high boiling point organic solvent with a boiling point above 150 degrees Celcius, and an aromatic based compound having at least one hydroxyl group. The aromatic based compound preferably contains an aromatic based compound having at least one carboxyl group or an aromatic based compound having at least one nitro group, or contains an aromatic based compound having at least one carboxyl group and an aromatic based compound having at least one nitro group.
