Journal ArticleDOI

Serum albumin, a good indicator of persistent organ failure in acute pancreatitis.

TL;DR: This retrospective study identified serum albumin predictive to persistent organ failure in acute pancreatitis and identified ALB as an independent prognostic factor for POF in AP.
Journal ArticleDOI

The m6A-Related mRNA Signature Predicts the Prognosis of Pancreatic Cancer Patients

TL;DR: An mRNA signature that may improve the prognostic prediction of PAAD patients based on the genetic status of m6A regulators is provided and time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves revealed it was effective in predicting the overall survival in both training and validation sets.
Journal ArticleDOI

Laboratory findings and a combined multifactorial approach to predict death in critically ill patients with COVID-19: a retrospective study.

TL;DR: In this paper, a single-centre, retrospective, observational study including 336 adult patients (≥18 years old) with severe or critically ill COVID-19 admitted in two wards of Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, who had definite outcomes (death or discharge) between 1 February 2020 and 13 March 2020 Single variable and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to identify mortality-related factors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Decreased high density lipoprotein cholesterol is an independent predictor for persistent organ failure, pancreatic necrosis and mortality in acute pancreatitis

TL;DR: Lower HDL-C median (<1.06 mmol/L) was identified as an independent prognostic factor of the outcomes and there was a positive trend for the association across increasing LDL-C quartiles and POF, PNec and mortality after multivariable analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prognostic value of progesterone receptor in solid pseudopapillary neoplasm of the pancreas: evaluation of a pooled case series

TL;DR: The results indicated the role of PR in predicting adverse outcome of patients with SPNP and negative PR result may serve as a potential prognostic factor.
