Development of new integrated water quality index (IWQI) model to evaluate the drinking suitability of water

TL;DR: The Integrated Water Quality Index (IWQI) as mentioned in this paper is a water quality index based on the concentration of cations (Ca, Mg, Na and K), anions (Cl, SO4 and NO3) and other parameters (pH, TDS) in groundwater samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Health risk assessment of heavy metal contamination in groundwater of Kadava River Basin, Nashik, India

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the integrated approach of heavy metal pollution indices coupled with multivariate statistical analysis to evaluate the health risk from groundwater of the Kadava River Basin, where 40 representative groundwater samples were collected from dug and bore wells during pre-monsoon seasons of 2011 from rural habitations which are actively used for drinking and irrigation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prediction of groundwater suitability for irrigation using artificial neural network model: a case study of Nanded tehsil, Maharashtra, India

TL;DR: In this article, an artificial neural network (ANN) model was used to predict values of residual sodium carbonate, magnesium adsorption ratio, Kellys ratio and percent sodium (%Na) in the groundwater of Nanded tehsil.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neural network modelling for nitrate concentration in groundwater of Kadava River basin, Nashik, Maharashtra, India

TL;DR: An attempt has been made to develop Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model for prediction of nitrate concentration in groundwater of Kadava River basin, Nashik District, Maharashtra as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of hydro-geochemical processes on groundwater quality through geostatistical techniques in Kadava River basin, Western India

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed 40 groundwater samples for pre-and post-monsoon seasons of 2011 through different geostatistical techniques and found that the concentrations of Mg2+ exceeded Ca2+ in both the seasons suggesting silicate weathering as a source of ions.
