Waste plastic derived Co3Fe7/CoFe2O4@carbon magnetic nanostructures for efficient dye adsorption

TL;DR: A mesoporous carbon nanostructure with embedded Co3Fe7/CoFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles is synthesized by a clean and low-cost ball-milling/molten salt processing approach, employing metal oxides and waste plastic materials, without the involvement of environmentally problematic raw materials or products.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dual-step air-thermal treatment for facile conversion of PET into porous carbon particles with enhanced dye adsorption performance

TL;DR: In this paper, a facile two-step strategy for the conversion of waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) into nanostructured porous carbon particles with external sizes of up to tens of micrometers, a high surface area of 644 m2/g and an electrical conductivity of 37 S/m, providing unique properties for dye adsorption applications.
