Myriad features enable and/or facilitate processing of such digital images using a mobile device that would otherwise be technically impossible or impractical, and furthermore address unique challenges presented by images captured using a camera rather than a traditional flat-bed scanner, paper-feed scanner or multifunction peripheral.

The cursor for selectively specifying an object to be edited on the display 6 is provided with the function for expressing a selecting range and the shape and size of the cursor can be variably set up. Consequently, the operability of graphic edition can be improved and effective graphic edition can be attained.

The recognition processing of a character or graphic pattern is executed while regulating the direction of a character or graphic plotted in the vicinity of a segment detected from a drawing based upon the direction of the segment. Consequently, the pattern plotted relating to the segment can be simply and high efficiently recognized.
