Spatial and temporal distributions of clay minerals in mud deposits on the inner shelf of the East China Sea: Implications for paleoenvironmental changes in the Holocene

Coupling of strike-slip faulting and lacustrine basin evolution: sequence stratigraphy, structure, and sedimentation in the North Yellow Sea Basin (West Bay Basin offshore North Korea), eastern China

In the South Yellow Sea Basin, Mesozoic–Paleozoic marine strata are generally well developed with large thickness, and no substantial breakthroughs have been made in hydrocarbon exploration. Through research, it is believed that the Upper Permian–Lower Triassic can be regarded as a long-term base-level cycle. Based on drilling data, characteristics of the lithology–electric property combination cyclicity, and the special lithology, the long-term base-level cycle was divided into five medium-term base-level cycles (MC1–MC5). On this basis, the Permian–Triassic sedimentary systems and their filling model were analyzed in accordance with the change of base-level cycle and transition of sedimentary environment, as well as characteristics of the drilling sedimentary facies and seismic facies. The results show that there were six sedimentary systems (fluvial, delta, tidal flat, open platform, restricted platform, and continental shelf) developed in the Upper Permian–Lower Triassic, the sedimentary systems were distributed such that the water was deep in the northwest and shallow in the southeast, and there were two base-level cycle filling models (a relatively stable tidal flat facies and a rapidly transgressive continental shelf facies to stable platform facies) developed in the Upper Permian–Lower Triassic. These models can provide a basis for evaluation of the Mesozoic–Paleozoic hydrocarbon geology in the South Yellow Sea Basin.

Sedimentary system characteristics and depositional filling model of Upper Permian–Lower Triassic in South Yellow Sea Basin

NMR logging technology,due to its accurate measurement result and the advantage of detecting lithological texture without damage,is increasingly and extensively applied in oil exploration and development.In this paper,we focused on the core data spectral processing method of NMR taking the Eastern Depression of the North Yellow Sea as a case.Pretreatment,spectrum analysis and formation parameter method and process were discussed for the core data processing of NMR.Using the optimal solution spectrum method,we obtained the data of effective porosity,movable fluid porosity,bound water porosity and permeability of formation parameters.

Application of Core Data Processing Method for NMR Measurements to the Eastern Depression of North Yellow Sea

Based on the 3-D seismic and drilling data from the North Yellow Sea Basin,the technology of multiple seismic attribute analysis was adopted to the Meso-Cenozoic reservoir prediction in the eastern depression of the North Yellow Sea Basin.The results suggest that the relatively sensitive seismic attributes to the North Yellow Sea reservoir include the absolute amplitude,composite absolute amplitude,RMS amplitude,energy,amplitude slope and standard deviation.The absolute amplitude is related to granularity,the composite absolute amplitude and amplitude slope are indicators of sedimentary environment,the RMS amplitude shows the sand content,the energy indicates the water energy of the basin,and the standard deviation illustrates the influence of tectonic movement and others.Through the seismic attributes analysis,it is concluded that the lower Cretaceous and the Eocene fluvial facies are the optimum reservoir and the fan delta is also considerable.
