Adjunct Screening With Tomosynthesis or Ultrasound in Women With Mammography-Negative Dense Breasts: Interim Report of a Prospective Comparative Trial

TL;DR: The Adjunct Screening With Tomosynthesis or Ultrasound in Women With Mammography-Negative Dense Breasts' interim analysis shows that ultrasound has better incremental BC detection than tomosynthesis in mammography-negative dense breasts at a similar FP-recall rate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mammographic density estimation: comparison among BI-RADS categories, a semi-automated software and a fully automated one.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that automated estimation of breast density is feasible and eliminates subjectivity, and both the semi-automated and the fully automated density estimation are more accurate than BI-RADS quantitative evaluation and could also be used in the daily clinical practice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantitative evaluation of background parenchymal enhancement (BPE) on breast MRI. A feasibility study with a semi-automatic and automatic software compared to observer-based scores.

TL;DR: Computerized BPE quantitative evaluation is feasible with both semi-automatic and automatic software and correlates with radiologists' estimation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Flat epithelial atypia: conservative management of patients without residual microcalcifications post-vacuum-assisted breast biopsy.

TL;DR: Surgical excision may not be necessary in patients with VAB diagnosis of isolated FEA, without residual microcalcifications post-procedure and considered concordant with the mammographic presentation, considering the low rate of malignancy at subsequent follow-ups.
Journal ArticleDOI

Breast ultrasound: automated or hand-held? Exploring patients' experience and preference.

TL;DR: ABUS and HHUS exams were well tolerated and accepted, however, HHUS was perceived to be less painful than ABUS.
