A novel approach based on Simulated annealing coupled to artificial neural network for 3-D electric-field optimization
A. Lahiri,Sivaji Chakravorti +1 more
TL;DR: The results presented in this paper show that optimized electrode-spacer contours have been obtained with an acceptable degree of accuracy using the neural-network-aided simulated-annealing algorithm.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of simultaneously occurring dynamic disc-to-disc insulation failures in transformer winding under impulse excitation
P. Rajamani,Sivaji Chakravorti +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a method for identification and localization of isolated as well as simultaneous dynamic series insulation failures in transformer winding has been proposed, where a trained wavelet network has been employed to identify the fault characteristics, viz. location(s), nature(s) and type of unknown impulse insulation failures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of chirp excitations for frequency domain spectroscopy measurement of oil-paper insulation
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the feasibility of conducting dielectric response measurement in frequency domain using chirp excitation voltage waveforms, which is a non-invasive, offline test performed to estimate moisture content, conductivity and aging status of the composite oil-paper insulation of a transformer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Self-organizing feature map based unsupervised technique for detection of partial discharge sources inside electrical substations
TL;DR: Lab and Field based experimental investigation showed promising results in applicability of the proposed scheme for detection and localization PD sources inside electrical substation with the help of four UHF sensors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wavelet network-based classification of transients using dominant frequency signature
TL;DR: A novel approach of classification of transients resulting from changes in circuit topology in a radial distribution system using continuous wavelet transform-based dominant frequency signature (DFS).
