The invention relates to a composite structural element and to a method for producing the same. The inventive composite structural element consists of a hollow profile base (1) having a hollow profile cross-section that is advantageously produced by a hydroforming technique, and at least one plastic element (2) that is firmly linked with the hollow profile base (1). Said plastic element (2) is injection-molded onto the hollow profile base (1) and is linked therewith at discrete connecting points (3, 6) by partially or completely covering the hollow profile base (1) at the connecting points (3, 6, 6a, 6b, 10, 12) with the plastic material injection-molded onto it to give the plastic element (2).

The first stamped member has a section rigidly connected to the hydroformed member and a section adapted to receive a first bushing. The second stamped member forms part of a third joint and is coupled to the second end of the hydroformed member. Hydroformed control arm

The present invention intends to provide a manufacturing
method of an irregular-section tubular body in which a
manufacturing process is simplified, and complexing and
large-sizing of an equipment, and increase of an equipment cost
are avoided. In the manufacturing method of the present invention, a
tubular worked body 1 sealed liquid W therein is press-formed by a
press upper mold 6 and a press lower mold 3. One of the press upper
and lower molds has one convex mold portion 3a to form a concave
portion la concaved in an axis perpendicular direction at an axial
part. The press-forming of the worked body to the tubular body is
completed by one stroke process by using a liquid pressure
increasing as decrease of internal volume of the worked body due to
formation of the concave portion. Thus, liquid in the worked body
is not pressurized by a pressurizing device after the
press-forming.

Manufacturing method for irregular-section tubular body and axle beam for torsion beam

The axle support comprises a crossbeam, a longitudinal support, and a half-shell made of fiber-reinforced plastic, which has a U-shaped profile stabilized by reinforcing ribs (6). The fibers are selected from the group consisting of glass fibers, aramide fibers, polypropylene fibers, metal fibers and carbon fibers. The axle support is formed of two half-shells made of plastic. The half-shells comprise an upper shell (2) and a lower shell (3), where the upper shell and the lower shell are adhered or welded together in the z-direction. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing an axle support.

Subframe for motor vehicle

The present invention relates to a method for making a vehicle frame member having a shock absorbing mounting portion constructed and arranged to be mounted to a structural component within a motor vehicle. The method comprises hydroforming a tubular blank within a hydroforming die by supplying pressurized fluid to the hollow interior of the blank. A drawforming member is moved inwardly with respect to the cavity of the hydroforming die while the fluid is pressurized so that the drawforming member deforms a portion of the tubular wall inwardly to form a recessed portion having an annular side wall portion and a bottom wall portion. The formed tubular blank is then removed from the hydroforming die and a mounting structure (38) is disposed inside the recessed portion and the blank and mounting structure (38) are then disposed within an injection molding die. Molten shock absorbing material (14) is injected into the recessed portion so that the molten material (14) surrounds the mounting structure. The molten shock absorbing material is thereafter solidified. Preferably, a pair of such recessed portions are formed. The present invention also relates to a vehicle frame member to be joined to a structural component in shock absorbing relation.
