Journal ArticleDOI

Identification and Characterization of Wheat Yellow Striate Virus, a Novel Leafhopper-Transmitted Nucleorhabdovirus Infecting Wheat.

TL;DR: Evidence is provided that WYSV is likely the first nucleorhabdovirus described infecting wheat via leafhopper P. alienus transmission, andylogenetic analysis firmly established it as a new member of the genus NucleorhabDovirus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification and Characterization of a Novel Emaravirus Associated With Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) Yellow Mottle Disease.

TL;DR: Results strongly support the proposal that JYMaV is the representative member of a novel species in the genus Emaravirus, and virus-like particles and double-membrane-bound bodies, similar to those previously reported for other emaraviruses, were observed by transmission electron microscopy in extracts and tissues from symptomatic leaves.
Journal ArticleDOI

Virome of Camellia japonica: Discovery of and Molecular Characterization of New Viruses of Different Taxa in Camellias.

TL;DR: Information of the viral species and detection protocols that were developed can serve as a basis for better management of these viruses and suggest that the evolutionary status of CaCRSVs may represent a novel genus in the family Fimoviridae.
Journal ArticleDOI

Viromics unveils extraordinary genetic diversity of the family Closteroviridae in wild citrus.

TL;DR: It is found that frequent horizontal gene transfer, gene duplication, and alteration of expression strategy have shaped the genome complexity and diversification of the family Closteroviridae.
Journal ArticleDOI

Watermelon crinkle leaf-associated virus 1 and watermelon crinkle leaf-associated virus 2 have a bipartite genome with molecular signatures typical of the members of the genus Coguvirus (family Phenuiviridae)

TL;DR: Watermelon crinkle leaf-associated virus (WCLaV-1) as discussed by the authors is a member of the genus Coguvirus and has a bipartite genome consisting of a negative-sense RNA1 encoding the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, and an ambisense RNA2, encoding the putative movement (MP) and nucleocapsid (NP) proteins.
