Journal ArticleDOI

DNA interactions and biocidal activity of metal complexes of benzothiazole Schiff bases: synthesis, characterization and validation

TL;DR: In this article, six mononuclear metal complexes of benzothiazole Schiff bases were synthesized and characterized, and DNA interaction studies showed that all the complexes showed an intercalative mode of binding to CT DNA and also effectively cleaved the supercoiled pBR DNA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Copper(II) complexes with isoxazole Schiff bases: Synthesis, spectroscopic investigation, DNA binding and nuclease activities, antioxidant and antimicrobial studies

TL;DR: In this paper, three novel Cu(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Visible, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and magnetic susceptibility studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal structure, DNA interactions, antioxidant and antitumor activity of thermally stable Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(III) complexes of an N,O donor Schiff base ligand

TL;DR: In this paper, three mononuclear binary metal complexes of the general formula [M(L)2] and [M1(L),3] were synthesized and were successfully characterized using spectroscopic techniques, together with elemental analysis, which indicated a monobasic bidentate nature of the ligand, coordinated via a deprotonated phenolic oxygen atom and an azomethine nitrogen atom.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal structure, DNA binding, cleavage, antioxidant and antibacterial studies of Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(III) complexes with 2-((furan-2-yl)methylimino)methyl)-6-ethoxyphenol Schiff base

TL;DR: In this paper, three binary metal complexes, namely, [Cu(L)2], [Ni(L 2], and [Co(L 3], were synthesized and characterized by various spectral techniques, and the role of these complexes in the oxidative and photolytic cleavage of supercoiled pBR322 DNA was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design, synthesis, spectral characterization, DNA interaction and biological activity studies of copper(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes of 6-amino benzothiazole derivatives

TL;DR: In this article, a square planar geometry around the metal ion is assigned to all the complexes based on the experimental data, and the interaction of synthesized metal complexes with calf thymus DNA was explored using UV-visible absorption spectra, fluorescence and viscosity measurements.
