Eruptive and structural history of Teide Volcano and rift zones of Tenerife, Canary Islands

TL;DR: The Teide and Pico Viejo stratocones and the Northwest and Northeast Rifts are products of the latest eruptive phase of the island of Tenerife, initiated with the lateral collapse of its northern flank that formed the Las Canadas Caldera and the Icod-La Guancha Valley ca. 200 ka.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the age of the Laschamp geomagnetic excursion

TL;DR: The Laschamp geomagnetic excursion is a critical tiepoint found directly in deep-sea sediment cores and revealed in polar ice as an abrupt change in the rate of cosmogenic nuclide flux.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tephrochronology of the Mont-Dore volcanic Massif (Massif Central, France): new 40Ar/39Ar constraints on the Late Pliocene and Early Pleistocene activity

TL;DR: In this article, a 40Ar/39Ar-dated pyroclastic unit from the Guery stratovolcano has been found in the left bank of the Dordogne River.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluvial dissection, isostatic uplift, and geomorphological evolution of volcanic islands (Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain)

TL;DR: In this paper, a digital analysis of torrential gullies deeply incised into the volcanic Island of Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) allows us to extract the longitudinal profiles and pre-incision surfaces for individual basins, from which morphometric parameters (length, elevation, area, slope) have been calculated.
