Use of medicinal plants and pharmaceuticals by indigenous communities in the Bolivian Andes and Amazon
Ina Vandebroek,Jan-Bart Calewaert,Stijn Jonckheere,Sabino Sanca,Lucio Semo,Patrick Van Damme,Luc Van Puyvelde,Norbert De Kimpe +7 more
TL;DR: The cultural importance of traditional medicine and the physical isolation of communities, both in general and from PHCs, are factors that influence the use of and knowledge about medicinal plants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antibody response against SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and nucleoprotein evaluated by four automated immunoassays and three ELISAs.
Jan Van Elslande,Bram Decru,Stijn Jonckheere,Eric Van Wijngaerden,Els Houben,P. Vandecandelaere,Christophe Indevuyst,Melissa Depypere,Stefanie Desmet,Emmanuel André,Marc Van Ranst,Katrien Lagrou,Pieter Vermeersch +12 more
TL;DR: The antibody response against SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and nucleoprotein using four automated immunoassays and three ELISAs for the detection of total Ig antibodies or IgG in COVID-19 patients was determined and seroconversion occurred within 3 weeks after onset of symptoms with all assays.
Journal ArticleDOI
The wave based method: An overview of 15 years of research
Elke Deckers,Onur Atak,Laurens Coox,Roberto D'Amico,Hendrik Devriendt,Stijn Jonckheere,Kunmo Koo,Bert Pluymers,Dirk Vandepitte,Wim Desmet +9 more
TL;DR: An overview of the current state of the art of the Wave Based Method, a comparison of the properties of the wave functions and element-based prediction techniques, application areas, extensions to the method such as hybrid and multi-level approaches and the most recent developments are given.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemiology and reporting of candidaemia in Belgium: a multi-centre study
C Trouvé,Stijn Blot,Stijn Blot,M-P Hayette,Stijn Jonckheere,Sofie Patteet,Hector Rodriguez-Villalobos,Françoise Symoens,E. Van Wijngaerden,Katrien Lagrou +9 more
TL;DR: The primary aim of this study was to collect national epidemiological data on candidaemia and to determine the reporting time of species identification and antifungal susceptibility in clinical practice, which differed up to 20-fold among Belgian hospitals.
Journal ArticleDOI
An efficient Wave Based Method for solving Helmholtz problems in three-dimensional bounded domains
Bert Van Genechten,Onur Atak,Bart Bergen,Elke Deckers,Stijn Jonckheere,Joong Seok Lee,Antonio Maressa,Karel Vergote,Bert Pluymers,Dirk Vandepitte,Wim Desmet +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the use of the Wave Based Method for the analysis of time-harmonic three-dimensional interior acoustic problems, which is an alternative deterministic technique which is based on the indirect Trefftz approach.
