TL;DR: In this article, the intermolecular interaction parameters for blends of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) with poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), poly(ethyl methacricyl)(PEMA) and five methyl methcrylate/ ethyl methcarylate copolymers (PMEMA) were determined by measurements of melting point depression of PVDF.
Abstract: The interaction parameters B for blends of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) with poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), poly(ethyl methacrylate) (PEMA) and five methyl methacrylate/ ethyl methacrylate copolymers (PMEMA) were determined by measurements of melting point depression of PVDF. The B values are negative, indicating an attractive intermolecular interaction. The intramolecular interaction parameter between MMA and EMA segments in PMEMA was found to be +3.25 cal/cm3, indicating a repulsive interaction between different monomer segments in the copolymer.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of two hexadentate macrocyclic ligands, 1.4,7,10,13,16-hexathiacyclooctadecane and 1.10, 13, 14, 16-diazacycloectatecane, on metal ion catalyzed oxidation of natural rubber have been studied by DSC.

TL;DR: In this article, the T g -composition curves of the 5 miscible blend systems can be described by the Gordon-Taylor equation, indicating that the intensity of PS-BrPPO interaction decreases with increasing bromine content of BrPPO.

TL;DR: The Brillouin spectrum of polyethylene has been measured as a function of temperature through the crystalline melting range, using a five-pass Fabry-Perot interferometer as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The Brillouin spectrum of polyethylene has been measured as a function of temperature through the crystalline melting range, using a five-pass Fabry-Perot interferometer. Discontinuities have been observed in the Brillouin shift and width and the Landau-Placzek ratio near the melting temperature. The results are discussed in terms of phenomena associated with the process of melting.

Abstract: The effects of two hexadentate macrocyclic ligands, 1,4,7,10,13,16-hexathiacyclooctadecane and 1,4,10,13-tetrathia-7,16-diazacyclooctadecane, on metal ion catalyzed oxidation of natural rubber have been studied by DSC. Both ligands show antioxidant activity and are able to suppress oxidation catalyzed by copper, iron, cobalt and manganese ions. The two hexadentate ligands are better metal ion deactivators than a tetradentate ligand 1,4,7,11-tetrathiocyclotetradecane.
