The Internet of Things and Services is a rapidly growing concept that illustrates that the ever increasing amount of physical items of our daily life which become addressable through a network could be made more easily manageable and usable through the use of Services. This surge of exposed resources along with the level of privacy and value of the information they hold, together with the increase of their usage make for an augmentation in the number of the security threats and violation attempts that existing security systems do not appear robust enough to address. In this paper, the authors underline this increase in risk and identify the requirements for resources to be more resilient in this type of environment while keeping an important level of flexibility. In addition, the authors propose an architectural model of Self Managed Security Cell, which leverages on current knowledge in large scale security systems, information management and autonomous systems.

Currently, business requirements for rapid operational efficiency, customer responsiveness as well as rapid adaptability are driving the need for ever increasing communication and integration capabilities of the software assets. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is generally acknowledged as being a potential solution to expose finely grained pieces of software components on a network that are reusable and composable. Provisioning of business services for different business purposes may require the rapid assembly of their core functionality with different infrastructure capabilities and policies in different contexts. In this paper, the authors propose a SOA based governance model that permits to handle non functional requirements in a dynamic way.

A Governance Model for SOA

The Web is evolving from a mere repository of information to a new platform for business transactions and information interchange. Large organizations are increasingly exposing their Business Processes through Web Services Technology for the large-scale development of software, as well as for the sharing of their services within and outside the organization. New paradigms for Software and Services Engineering such as the Software-asa-Service (SaaS) and the cloud computing model promise to create new levels of efficiency through large-scale sharing of functionality and computing resources. However, there are few academic works in this area and many gaps are still open. In this paper, we present a Business Process based on Semantics platform where services are executed from a SaaS perspective. The SITIO platform allows external developers to create add-on applications that integrate into the main SITIO application and are hosted on Cloud Computing infrastructure.

Recently, the economy has taken a downturn, which has forced many companies to reduce their costs in IT. According to experts, one interesting approach could be to outsource parts of their business through third parties. This will allow companies to free resources invested in outsourced business processes and to focus their investments on those processes that are unique to the organization. The future Internet will be based on services and this new trend will have significant impact on domains such as e-Science, education and e-Commerce. Recently, SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) has emerged as a model of software deployment suitable for implementing this new service-oriented strategy. SITIO: semantic business processes based on software-as-a-service and cloud computing

One of the primary benefits of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) [1] is the ability to compose applications, processes or more complex services from other services. As the complexity and sophistication of theses structures increases, so does the need for adaptability of each component. In recent years, a lot of effort has been put into improving the flexibility of these systems so that totally loose services can be integrated dynamically without imposing any architectural restrictions. This proposal presents a project to devise a novel model that aims at increasing the adaptability of the resources exposed through it by dynamically managing their non-functional requirements. To manage these non-functional properties, we aggregate the services required into what we define as a profile.
