Climate change related problems present the greatest challenge of the present times. Energy production and energy use has a major role in environmental problems and greenhouse gas emissions. Long term energy planning has to consider both economical and environmental criteria and develop alternative scenarios for sustainable development for decision makers. Decision supporting mathematical models are frequently applied in such intergrated planning analyses. From the viewpoint of energy system mo-delling, this paper systematically analyses energy models developed by various international organisations. Their modelling approaches, functions, modelling structures, as well as their typical applications are reviewed. The review will be helpful for further study and development in the area of mo-delling and analysis of energy complex systems

Környe zetinformatikai modellek elméleti kérdései és hazai alkalmazásuk az energetikai kibocsátásokban theoretical approaches of environmental informatics models and domestic applications in energy emissions modeling

This paper overviews the anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions in Hungary in the period 1985–95. The emissions have been determined and reported according to the IPCC methodologies. The emissions of greenhouse gases decreased until 1994, basically as a result of the economic recession. Hungary has chosen the yearly average emission level of 1985–87 as the base level. In 1994, greenhouse gas emissions were under this level by 30%;. Considering this, and the ongoing governmental energy efficiency programmes, Hungary will be able to meet the undertaken emission levels of the UN Framework Convention of Climate Change.

Comprehensive analysis of greenhouse gas emissions in Hungary
