An object is to provide a semiconductor device of which a manufacturing process is not complicated and by which cost can be suppressed, by forming a thin film transistor using an oxide semiconductor film typified by zinc oxide, and a manufacturing method thereof. For the semiconductor device, a gate electrode is formed over a substrate; a gate insulating film is formed covering the gate electrode; an oxide semiconductor film is formed over the gate insulating film; and a first conductive film and a second conductive film are formed over the oxide semiconductor film. The oxide semiconductor film has at least a crystallized region in a channel region.

Semiconductor device, and manufacturing method thereof

Media objects are transformed into active, connected objects via identifiers embedded into them or their containers. In the context of a user's playback experience, a decoding process extracts the identifier from a media object and possibly additional context information and forwards it to a server. The server, in turn, maps the identifier to an action, such as returning metadata, re-directing the request to one or more other servers, requesting information from another server to identify the media object, etc. The server may return a higher fidelity version of content from which the identifier was extracted. In some applications, the higher fidelity version may be substituted for the original media object and rendered to provide higher quality output. The linking process applies to broadcast objects as well as objects transmitted over networks in streaming and compressed file formats.

Portable devices and methods employing digital watermarking

S. Benton published a definitive taxonomy of the first one hundred and seventy years of 3D displays covering the field up to the year 2000. In this article we review how display technologies have advanced in the last ten years and update Benton's taxonomy to include the latest additions. Our aim is to produce a display taxonomy suitable for content producers highlighting which displays have common requirements for image delivery. We also analyze key technical characteristics of 3D displays and use these characteristics to suggest the future applications for each category of display.

Three-Dimensional Displays: A Review and Applications Analysis

A new super multi-view (SMV) display system that enables the number of views to be increased is proposed. All three-dimensional (3D) images generated by multiple multi-view flat-panel displays are superimposed on a common screen using a multi-projection system. The viewing zones of the flat-panel 3D display are produced in the pupils of the projection lenses and then imaged to the observation space by a screen lens. Sixteen flat-panel 3D displays having 16 views were used to construct a SMV display having 256 views. The 3D resolution was 256 x 192. The screen size was 10.3 inches. The horizontal interval of the viewing zones was 1.3 mm.

Volumetric displays produce volume-filling three-dimensional imagery. Each volume element or voxel in a 3D scene emits visible light from the region in which it appears. Given their ability to project volume-filling autostereoscopic imagery, these displays are being adopted in fields as diverse as medical imaging, mechanical computer-aided design, and military visualization. The author uses the term autostereoscopic to describe a display property that lets observers experience a 3D effect without requiring any additional eyewear. Vendors are developing software that lowers the barrier to adoption by providing compatibility with new and legacy applications. At least one firm is developing a display-dependent visualization environment with the aim of 3D displays overall. The widespread adoption of volumetric 3D displays requires the ability to integrate tightly into today's visualization software.

The 3D research project has been developing the 3D display system in which natural obserbation is realized in Telecommunication Advancement Organization (TAO) in Japan. Here, recent results are mentioned. The researches are mainly classified in three parts. The first research is the development of 3D display apparatus that realizes super-multi-view condition. The second one is the development of image processing system which generates the super-multi-view video signals. The third is the research to measure the eye control states when super-multi-view 3D images are observed, and the development of the measuring system.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information collecting system which can inform the user of abnormality occurrence with high probability even if a concrete pole falls down. SOLUTION: This information collecting system is equipped with an inclination detecting sensor which detects the state change geared to the inclination of the concrete pole, a sensor node which is equipped with a radio communication part that transmits the detection information of the inclination detecting sensor and its own identifying information, and a gate way server which collects the transmitted information transmitted from the above sensor node and transmits the collected information to another communication network different in communication protocol form the sensor node, and each sensor node constitutes a radio ad hoc network with a sensor node which is mounted on other concrete poles existing within its own communicatable distance. Information collecting system

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display and print the images which are photographed by a portable image input device in an optional place and at an optional time via a fixed image input/output device by preparing a communication part where the communication of data is carried out between the portable image input device and the fixed image input/output device. SOLUTION: A fixed communication part 5 is added to a fixed image input/ output device 1 to perform communication with the outside and also with a PHS telephone set 14 having an optional electronic camera function. Thus, the image data other than those that can be inputted via the device 1, i. e., the image data sent from the set 14 are received at the part 5 and sent to an image data processing part 3 to undergo a prescribed image processing there. Then the processed image data are displayed, printed out and also recorded on a medium. Meanwhile, the opposite party having the set 14 is called via the telephone function of a voice transmitting/receiving part 4. The image data which are photographed by the opposite party are received via the part 5 and also can be displayed, printed out and recorded on a medium.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow one communicating part to send and receive voice informa tion, character information and image information by switching sending and receiving methods in accordance with the voice information, character informa tion and image information. SOLUTION: A communicating part 27 has functions which receive image information from image memory 22, character information from character memory 26 or a character information inputting part 25 and user's voice information from a voice input/output part 24 and outputs each information to other terminals. The part 27 has a switching means which switches sending methods in accordance with each information internally. Also, the part 27 receives image information, character information and voice information from other terminals and sends them to the memory 22, the memory 26 and the part 24 respectively. The part 27 switches receiving methods with the switching means in accordance with each information in the same way as the sending time. The part 27 consists, e.g. of data communication circuits.
