An outdoor unit of an air conditioner is provided. The outdoor unit includes a base assembly defining a lower exterior of the outdoor unit and supporting a plurality of parts, left and right panels that are provided on the base assembly to define left and right exteriors of the outdoor unit, a pair of top panels that are provided between upper ends of the left and right panels to define a top exterior of the outdoor unit, a blower assembly including a blower fan generating air current and a motor providing a torque to the blower fan, a frame assembly supporting the blower assembly and including a pair of transverse supports interconnecting the left and right panels and a motor mount disposed between the pair of transverse supports to support the motor, and a shroud enclosing the blower fan and the motor and guiding airflow generated by the blower fan. The motor mount is received to an inside of the shroud.

Outdoor unit of air conditioner

A front panel constituted by a synthetic resin molded product is used with respect to a base panel, side panels, and a top panel which are formed of a metal, first retaining means for the side panels and second retaining means for the top panel are provided on the front panel to effect fixation.

An air-conditioning device (100) provided with the following: an outdoor unit (1) containing a compressor (10), a first refrigerant-path switching device (11), and a heat-source-side heat exchanger (12); a heat-medium exchanger (3) containing an inter-heat-medium heat exchanger (15), a flow-restriction device (16), a second refrigerant-path switching device (18), and a pump (21); and at least one indoor unit (2) containing a usage-side heat exchanger (26). The compressor (10), the first refrigerant-path switching device (11), the flow-restriction device (16), the second refrigerant-path switching device (18), and the inter-heat-medium heat exchanger (15) are connected by refrigerant piping, forming a refrigeration-cycle circuit. The inter-heat-medium heat exchanger (15) and the usage-side heat exchanger (26) are connected by heat-medium piping, forming a heat-medium circulation circuit through which a heat medium other than the refrigerant circulates. By switching the first refrigerant-path switching device (11), this air-conditioning device enters a defrost mode wherein the refrigerant discharged from the compressor (10) is supplied to the heat-source-side heat exchanger (12). In said defrost mode, some of the refrigerant flowing from the heat-source-side heat exchanger (12) is supplied to the inter-heat-medium heat exchanger (15) without going through the flow-restriction device (16), and the rest is returned to the outdoor unit (1) without going through either the flow-restriction device (16) or the inter-heat-medium heat exchanger (15).

Air conditioning device

An air conditioning apparatus includes a compression mechanism, a heat source-side heat exchanger, an expansion mechanism, a usage-side heat exchanger, a blower, housings and a bypass circuit. The blower feeds an air flow to the heat source-side heat exchanger. The housings is configured to accommodate the heat source-side heat exchanger and the blower in a space above the bottom plate. The bypass circuit is disposed so as to pass below the blower and the heat source-side heat exchanger. The bypass circuit is configured to bypass a third refrigerant tube on a discharge side of the compression mechanism, and at least one of a first refrigerant tube and a second refrigerant tube. The first refrigerant tube extends from the usage-side heat exchanger to the expansion mechanism. The second refrigerant tube extends from the expansion mechanism to the heat source-side heat exchanger.

An outdoor unit for an air conditioner, comprising: a heat exchanger disposed inside a housing; and a bottom plate of the housing, including, a bottom plate portion, a flange formed by upwardly folding back an edge of the bottom plate portion, a drainage hole penetrating the bottom plate portion and configured to discharge water, a plurality of mounting bases protruding upwardly from the bottom plate portion and supporting a lower end of the heat exchanger by upper surfaces thereof, and a drainage conduit provided in contact with the mounting bases and inclining downward toward the drainage hole, wherein a portion of the bottom plate portion positioned between at least one of the plurality of the mounting bases and the flange includes an inclined portion which is inclined toward the drainage conduit in a longitudinal direction of the flange.

Workability of joining refrigerant connection piping and closing valves in an outdoor unit of an air conditioner is improved. A closing valve installation structure (27) is a structure for fixing closing valves (18, 19) in an outdoor unit (2) of an air conditioner (1) and has bases (30, 40) and a fixation section (50). The closing valves (18, 19) are connected to an indoor unit (3) via refrigerant connection piping (17a, 17b). The bases (30, 40) extend upward from a bottom frame (26) of the outdoor unit (2). A fixation section (50) is provided continuous to the bases (30, 40), and the closing valves (18, 19) are fixed to the fixation section. When the closing valves (18, 19) are connected to the fixation section (50), there is a gap below the valves.
