Bilateral Histogram Equalization for X-Ray Image Tone Mapping

TL;DR: A novel tone mapping operator that fusions the multiple versions of a single HDR input obtained by clipping and normalizing its intensity based on a complete set of disjoint intervals is introduced, designed to offer a good rendering of the local structures.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

CNN-based morphological decomposition of X-ray images for details and defects contrast enhancement

TL;DR: In this article, two CNN branches are used to decompose an input image into its two morphological components, i.e., local textures and piecewise smooth (cartoon) parts.

Optimizing the range of a bilateral filter to enhance defects and threads visibility in x-ray radiographic testing

TL;DR: In this paper , a bilateral filter is used to extract and amplify the low-contrast local variations of the image, which are supposed to represent the object defects, and a critical step lies in the selection of the bilateral filter range parameter, which sets a contrast upper bound to the signals that are filtered out, to be scaled to a constant fraction of the rendering range.
