Journal ArticleDOI
Acute and post-acute phase of COVID-19: Analyzing expression patterns of miRNA-29a-3p, 146a-3p, 155-5p, and let-7b-3p in PBMC.
Tahereh Donyavi,Farah Bokharaei-Salim,Hossein Bannazadeh Baghi,Khadijeh Khanaliha,Mahrokh Alaei Janat-Makan,Bahareh Karimi,Javid Sadri Nahand,Hamed Mirzaei,Alireza Khatami,Saba Garshasbi,Majid Khoshmirsafa,Seyed Jalal Kiani +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the specific miRNA profile which can act as new biomarkers for distinguishing acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (COVID-19) from the healthy group and those in the post-acute phase of the disease was elucidated.
Journal ArticleDOI
High prevalence of occult hepatitis C virus infection in injection drug users with HIV infection.
Tahereh Donyavi,Farah Bokharaei-Salim,Khadijeh Khanaliha,Maryam Sheikh,Mohammad-Navid Bastani,Najmeh Moradi,Roghayeh Babaei,Zahra Habib,Atousa Fakhim,Maryam Esghaei +9 more
TL;DR: It seems that the prevalence of OCI in HIV-positive IDUs is extremely significant in Iran and is likely to delay the global eradication of HCV infection until 2030.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of a PCR assay for diagnosis of toxoplasmosis in serum and peripheral blood mononuclear cell among HIV/AIDS patients.
Farah Bokharaei-Salim,Abdoulreza Esteghamati,Khadijeh Khanaliha,Saeed Kalantari,Shirin Sayyahfar,Tahereh Donyavi,Saba Garshasbi,Qasem Asgari,Borna Salemi +8 more
TL;DR: The results of this study showed that the numbers of positive samples by PCR in PBMC were higher than serum specimens for diagnosis of toxoplasmosis, and if molecular method and immunological assay are complemented with magnetic resonance imaging, the results can be useful for diagnosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of HCV genome in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of Iranian seropositive and HCV RNA negative in plasma of patients with beta‐thalassemia major: Occult HCV infection
Roya Kahyesh‐Esfandiary,Zohreh-Azita Sadigh,Maryam Esghaei,Mohammad-Navid Bastani,Tahereh Donyavi,Alireza Najafi,Atousa Fakhim,Farah Bokharaei-Salim +7 more
TL;DR: This study shows that among this group of Iranian patients with β‐thalassemia major, 13.4% had activeHCV infection and 6.3% had occult HCV infection as evidenced by HCV RNA detected in PBMC specimens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of HBV genome in the plasma and peripheral blood mononuclear cells of Iranian HBsAg negative patients with HIV infection: occult HBV infection
Zahra Tajik,Farah Bokharaei-Salim,Saied Ghorbani,Hossein Keyvani,Maryam Esghaei,Seyed Hamidreza Monavari,Angila Ataei-Pirkooh,Saba Garshasbi,Tahereh Donyavi,Atousa Fakhim +9 more
TL;DR: The present study revealed that 3.3% of the patients with HIV infection had occult HBV infection, and designing prospective studies to identify this infection in patients with AIDS infection is informative and valuable.
