An electromagnetically actuatable valve is proposed that serves in particular as a fuel injection valve for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines. An armature cooperates with magnet poles, and a bearing cone the length of the generatrix of which is approximately equivalent to the diameter is machined into a valve seat body. The armature and valve seat body may also have bearing faces of calotte shape facing one another.

Electromagnetically actuatable valve

To collect analyte in a supercritical fluid extraction process, the extractant flows to a collection container (130) under pressure. In one embodiment, the collection container (130) contains collection solvent (144) through which the extractant flows to partition analyte. The extractant adds to the liquid and when the collection solvent-extractant mixture rises to a heating zone, the extractant vaporizes selectively since its vapor pressure is higher than the vapor pressure of the collection solvent (144). When its pressure exceeds a preset valve (148) pressure it is vented so that extractant continually leaves the collection container (130). After the extraction is complete, the analyte is concentrated in the collection solvent (144). In another embodiment, the collection vessel includes a solid material on which the analyte collects. It is removed under pressure by a solvent that is concentrated under pressure.

Apparatus and method for supercritical fluid extraction

A variable-orifice fluid restrictor for use with a supercritical extractor or chromatograph includes an inlet line for fluid at a pressure above its critical pressure, an extended tubular probe having an inner and an outer surface and a proximal and a distal end. The proximal end of the probe is disposed toward the inlet line. The distal end of the probe includes an adjustable orifice means adapted for metering the fluid and having first and second orifice members and an adjusting stem having first and second ends. The adjustable orifice means is adjacent to the outer surface of the probe and the orifice means is adjustable with the adjusting stem. The end of the adjusting stem is located at the distal end of the probe and is adapted for moving the first orifice member with respect to the second orifice member to control the adjustable orifice for varying the restriction of fluid passing through the adjustable orifice.

Apparatus and method for supercritical fluid extraction or supercritical fluid chromatography

An object of the invention is to provide an exhaust emission control device which eliminates the use of a heat-retention structure using heat-insulating material such as glass wool so as to attain substantial lessening in production cost. A discharge end of a gas gathering chamber is connected to an entry end of a mixing pipe so as to encase the entry end of the mixing pipe and close an opened end face in a required spaced-apart relationship. Moreover, a side surface of the entry end of the mixing pipe adjacent to the discharge side of the particulate filter is formed with an opening; and gas guide passages are formed in the gas gathering chamber by guide fins for tangential introduction of all of the exhaust gas from the discharge side of the particulate filter to the opening. An extra space isolated from the gas guide passages is ensured in the gas gathering chamber as a heat-retention chamber surrounding the entry end of the mixing pipe.

Exhaust emission control device

A fuel injection device for internal combustion engines with high-pressure pump (1), the working chamber (9) of which can be connected on the intake side to a fuel tank (15) via a supply pipe (13) and on the pressure side to a high-pressure manifold (21) via a high-pressure line (19), from which a plurality of injection pipes (23) runs to the individual injection valves (25), and with a pressure valve in the supply pipe (13) and the high-pressure pipe (19), via which the back-flow of fuel from the working chamber (9) into the supply pipe (13) and from the high-pressure pipe (19) into the working chamber (9) is prevented. Here, the pressure valves in the supply pipe (13) and the high-pressure pipe (19) are fitted in a shared compact valve unit (11).

Fuel injection device for internal combustion engines

An electromagnetic fuel injector comprising a fixed iron core, a solenoid formed by winding a coil around the fixed iron core, a coil holder fixed to the solenoid, an injector casing surrounding the solenoid and the coil holder and formed of a material having high magnetic permeability, a movable iron core inserted between the fixed iron core and the injector casing, a compression spring normally biasing the movable iron core toward an injection nozzle of the injector, a valve body connected at its base to the movable iron core and formed with a flange at a base portion thereof, a stopper adapted to abut against the flange of the valve body and restrict a movable range, a valve housing incorporated in a front portion of the injector casing and slidably supporting the valve body, the valve housing being formed at its front end portion with a valve seat adapted to abut against the valve body, and a radiation member closely fitted on an outer periphery of the injector casing. A connection member may be provided connecting a plurality of injectors mounted on cylinders in a multi-cylinder engine for radiating heat generated in the injectors.

Electromagnetic fuel injector

An injector (10) injects a reducing agent (52) into an exhaust passage (18) formed between an engine and a catalytic converter in an engine exhaust gas purifying apparatus for purifying engine exhaust gas using the catalytic converter mounted in the exhaust passage (18) of the engine. The injector (10) includes at a tip end thereof a protector (38b) for preventing an injection nozzle (38a) of the injector from being directly exposed to an engine exhaust gas flow (14).

Injector for engine exhaust gas purifying apparatus

A fuel injector including an injector casing having a fuel inlet at a side portion thereof; a valve housing having a fuel injection hole at a front end thereof and having a guide hole at an axial central portion thereof, the guide hole being communicated with the fuel inlet; a valve reciprocably accommodated in the guide hole, the valve being adjusted to close the fuel injection hole when advancing and open the fuel injection hole when retracting; a valve driving device for driving the valve to advance and retract the valve; and a fuel strainer mounted on an outer circumference of the injector casing, the strainer comprising a synthetic resin frame having annular portions at front and rear ends thereof and a metal ring connected to at least one of the front and rear end portions of the frame by insert molding of synthetic resin, the metal ring being press-fitted with the injector casing. With this construction, the generation of a gap due to the creep of resin between the injector casing and the strainer can be prevented to thereby prevent entry of a foreign matter into the injector.
