The nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a nonaqueous electrolytic solution. At least one of the positive and negative electrodes has a collector which includes a compound containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of transition metal elements, group III elements, group IV Elements, and group V elements.

Non aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

PURPOSE:To prevent the internal short circuit due to the occurrence of the dendrite of the negative electrode Li, the reduction of the charge and discharge characteristics, and the occurrence of dispersion by folding and heat-depositing the upper and lower end faces of a separator protruded above and below an electrode body and covering positive and negative electrode plates. CONSTITUTION:A nonwoven fabric or a fine hole film sheet is cut into a band shape with the width wider than positive and negative electrodes 1 and 2 to form a separator 3. The separator 3 is inserted between the positive and negative electrodes 1 and 2, the whole is wound in a spiral shape to constitute an electrode body. The upper and lower end faces of the separator 3 protruded above and below the electrode are heated and folded in the core direction of the electrode body and heat-deposited to cover the upper and lower sections of the electrode body. The Li dendrite is hardly dropped off, and the dendrite is prevented from floating in the electrolyte even when dropped off.

Cylindrical lithium secondary cell

PURPOSE:To reduce the electric resistance at a lead plate part and to improve the safety by using a stainless steel furnishing a specific coverage layer which consists of aluminum or an aluminum alloy at the surface of the inner side of a battery as the material of a sealing cap, and connecting the lead plate on the coverage layer of the sealing cap by a spot welding. CONSTITUTION:As a lead plate 3 led out from a collector of a positive electrode plate, aluminum or an aluminum alloy is used, and as the material of a sealing cap 4 welded to the lead plate 3, a stainless steel 5a furnishing a coverage layer 5b which consists of aluminum or an aluminum alloy with the thickness 0.03mm at least, and being 35% of the thickness of the sealing cap 4 at the inner side of the battery at the maximum, is used. The lead plate 3 is welded and connected on the coverage layer 5b of the sealing cap 4 by a spit welding. As a result, an aluminum type lead plate of a low electric resistance can be adoped without reducing the welding strength and the battery assembly workability, and when the battery is short-circuit to an external unit, a burning or a breaking of the battery owing to an abnormal heating can be prevented.

Organic electrolytic battery

PURPOSE:To enhance the life-time property and the safety of the battery, by welding a positive electrode lead plate directly to the end of a positive electrode from where the positive electrode is wound, and also curving the lead plate by the same radius of curvature as that of a core for winding. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode plate 3 and a negative electrode panel 4 are both helically wound while a separator 5 is interposed therebetween and the plates are both inserted into a battery container which comprises a cylindrical battery case 1 made of metal and a lid panel 2 used as a positive electrode terminal. A lead plate 6 for collecting currents through a positive electrode is welded at one end directly to the positive electrode plate 3 and at the other end to the lid panel 2 and is welded and fixed to that portion 3a of the positive electrode plate 3 from which the plate 3 is wound. In this case, the positive electrode lead plate 6 is curved by the same radius R of curvature as that of a core 8 for winding, and the positive electrode lead plate 6 curved is then wound while being forced to abut the core 8 for winding, so that the electrode plate during winding shears less, which enables the work required for winding the plate to be simplified. Also, the life of the battery is extended due to an increase in the amount of electrolytes to be injected.
