Journal ArticleDOI
Age-related change of antioxidant capacities in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats.
TL;DR: Observations indicated that hypertensive vascular disease observed in the SHRSP CC resulted from the decreased antioxidant capacity that is closely associated with the development of stroke and, in turn, shortened life span.
Journal ArticleDOI
Change of Cu,Zn-superoxide dismutase activity of guinea pig lung in experimental asthma.
Shozo Nishida,Kazuhiro Teramoto,Saori Kimoto-Kinoshita,Yuji Tohda,Shigenori Nakajima,Takanori Tomura,Kiyohiro Irimajiri +6 more
TL;DR: Results were indicated that Cu, Zn-SOD was closely involved in the asthma process, particularly in the scavenging of oxygen radicals secreted from BAL cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study on Cathepsin B Activity in Human Thyroid Tumors
Takeshi Kusunoki,Shozo Nishida,Takayuki Nakano,Kunihiko Funasaka,Saori Kimoto,Kiyotaka Murata,Takanori Tomura +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that cathepsin B plays a role in the development of extra-capsular invasion and lymph node metastasis in human thyroid tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Decrease of endothelial nitric oxide synthase in stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rat cerebral cortex.
TL;DR: The results indicate that the alteration of eNOS but not of nNOS protein would be more closely associated with the development of stroke in SHRSP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diethyldithiocarbamate can induce two different type of death: apoptosis and necrosis mediating the differential MAP kinase activation and redox regulation in HL60 cells.
TL;DR: It is observed that DDC induced not only apoptosis but also necrosis depending on its dosage in HL60 premyelocytic leukemia cells, and the mitochondrial transmembrane potential was remarkably decreased in the DDC-induced necrosis.
